Foxwoods table rules

Hello all!!
As a casino blackjack newbie I want to make sure I am making the right chart from the generator on this site..........I have the rules as: stand all 17s, double after split allowed, double any 2 cards and late surrender. Anything wrong???

Also in another thread someone had mentioned that there was only one $10 table open on weeknights. I was there( for the first time) almost a month ago on a tuesday night and there were 3 $10 open.

I have been there many times. Your rules are correct. The only addition is you can split 10's at Foxwoods (you can't at Mohegan Sun). Not that you would split 10's but in case you wanted to.

As far as table minimum's. Foxwoods varies, you most likely won't find a $10 table at Foxwoods on Friday or Saturday night. I am not saying you won't but chances are the lowest you will find is a $15. During the week and during the day you will find several $10 tables at Foxwoods and every once in a while a $5 table although those are becoming rare.

At Mohegan Sun they have Bonanza Black Jack which has the same exact rules as regular BJ except there is a dollar forced bet you have to make each hand. If you get blackjack you get paid more money depending on if the cards match or not. It is a huge suckers bet but I have seen 3 people at my table in the past year win $2,500 on the BJ match (every face, 10 and Ace card has a dollar amount on it between $10 - $2,500, if you get BJ and the dollar amounts match you in that amount, if you get BJ and they don't match you win 6-1 on your dollar bet) . The only good thing about these Bonanza tables is Mohegan Sun always has several of them open for $6 or $11 dollars no matter how busy it is (the odd amount because of the dollar bet). The trick is getting a seat as they get jammed pack fast. I try to avoid Bonanza BJ but if that is all that is open I will play it.

Once a great place, however these days the games aren't worth the gas needed to get there. Not like before: "Pay the table"...and they did! You'll probably find better games in parts of Canada. Good Luck!

Would you explaine what you mean and why? I have been playing there and have not had a whole lot of good luck.

Oh, damn. This does not look too good for me now. I had planned on playing at Foxwoods once I was ready to start playing. What do they do there to stop counters from winning? When you say "if you plan to win big" how big do you mean? It'd be nice if I could win $500 a week there. Is that possible? Or is that considered "big"? I realize this post is old... but perhaps there is someone else who can answer this.

TimeKeeper it depends on what you mean by "Big". $500 is not much of a threat to the casino. I did some rough estimates with Fox's rules using my playing system and in order to win $500 weekly on a $10 table you would need a $10,000 bankroll playing 48 hours a week. You might be better off getting a job. I also rounded my playing edge to 1% but in reality it is closer to .5%. Just realize your edge over the casino is tiny if you count, .5% edge means for every $100 you bet you will only win 50 cents.

Ouch. What are my other options then? I do not need to get a job, I already have one. I work from home as a Webmaster. I never liked working for other people which is why blackjack really attracted me. And I'm learning it's fun to play. It's a great new hobby for me to play and learn as I go.

Is Mohegan Sun any better? Or Atlantic City or even Montreal?

The rules must really suck if all you can make is $10/hr of a $100 table.
 
TimeKeeper the point I'm trying to make is that the amount of money you can make is really determined by the size of your bankroll, the amount you are willing to risk and the % edge you have over the casino. My suggestion is to buy a software package like Verite set up the deck and the rules you will be playing against, choose your bet spreads and go nuts and see the kind of results you will get. Play a few hours a day for a month and you will see if it is a worth while venture for you or not. I started this way was happy with the results and its great practise to see if you can actually beat a casino. If you can't do it while practicing you won't be able to do it in the heat of the battle of an actual casino. Plus if it doesn't work out you will save yourself a ton of money. Good luck!

This is a house edge of about .38 percent which isn't bad if the penetration is good.

I just asked him and he said that Foxwoods cuts 2 decks out. The cut card is at 6-7 decks most of the time depending on the dealer. Am I right in saying that's 69% penetration?
