The gain curve for penetration shows a slight fairly linear increase as penetration increases. It is somewhat parallel to to the penetration axis in the graph. Not much reward for deeper penetration. However; at some point the graph takes a sharp turn upward and more or less parallels the gain axis in a linear form. If the pen passes this bend the returns are much much more significant.
Someone else can comment on the specifics as Im not sure but I think its around 75% pen.

I'm moving to the Sun. Though they will be changing over soon enough. As long as those of us from New Haven to New Hampshire have no drivable alternative we are f***ed.
Frankly, I'm surprised it didn't happen sooner.
Good news though. All over the idiot slots are draped big "Looser Slots" signs. They must have upped the payouts from 90.3% to 90.4%. :laugh:

How much of foxwoods is h17? is it all or only half like somebopdy suggested before? theres like 4 or 5 sections of foxwoods with table games.

All of it except HL rooms
I was there on Saturday and everything except MGM was H17. I believe they are changing MGM this week if it's not changed already. The HL rooms are still S17.

Oh snap, i still owe you for that one.
I was going to come up today, but then i got a coupon in the mail for gas card which is valid tomorrow, so i think maybe tomorrow if i go. H17 is so ehhh, id rather to mohegan and wong like a mad man. I dont think the penn is all that bad like everybody says, but i also havnt been there in a while.
Is the heat in the HL room still as high as it's purported to be?

I have played in the Newport and MGM HL rooms on occasion (mainly when I'm playing from behind) at various times of day and have not experienced too much heat spreading 10:1 or 12:1 (50-500/600).
That being said, I would hazard a guess that the HL rooms will definitely get sweatier now considering the vast difference in quality between the games outside and inside. Before the risk/reward wasn't really worth it to play in the HL rooms. Now, with generally less crowded tables, S17, 6 decks, and better pen, it will more than likely be worth it to play in the HL rooms as long as you make sure to have your heat radar up.

Don't. Even at H17 you are still better off out on the main floor where you can enter at any time and skip hands. You can do that all you want on the main floor and still be less noticeable than someone spreading in the Newport room. The pen is also more variable out in the jungle, which means there's some very bad pen, and some very good pen.

Not much, especially being most ploppies there play something closer to H17 basic strategy than S17 basic strategy anyway. Especially if Mohegan doesn't follow suit, they will probably lose enough civilian green chippers to more than piss away whatever they gained. There aren't enough counters who will be affected to make a difference.
My guess is they will take a slight loss due to it, but whoever made the decision will just attribute it to something else ("the economy" etc.) and walk around like some kind of a hero. That's the way it works in a casino, the decision makers and the people who judge them are both just plain stupid. Especially a place like Foxwoods that is run by a bunch of semi-literate slumlords, who call their cornrows braids and then call themselves Indians.

Yep! Although the REALLY REALLY knowledgeable players would know this, and look for opportunities in the H17 pits, which are now easier due to the more skilled floor and surveillance personnel protecting the S17 games.
