Ah yes, there’s nothing like a little tax-free supplemental income to keep you comfortable in those golden years! :D With a little positive variance you might even be able to retire a little early.

-Sonny-
Believe me Sonny, I'm working on it!

Sagefr0g: My wife and I have already discovered that our "casino lifestyle" costs us very little. This is primarily due to comps that SHE recieves for her action at the machines. I quit getting comps about a year and a half ago! I've been seeing steady amounts of profit from blackjack play plus, we have some pretty good connections within the "travel industry" so our trips cost us virtually nothing. Cannot think of a better way to spend our vacation time. Fun, mostly relaxing and an opportunity to actually cash up a little. I see no reason to cease this practice after I retire....and, I can hardly wait for that to happen!

thats a really nice run you have going there. travel is my biggest obstacle to overcome and my bankroll isn't very big. so i consolidate road trips that i'm going to do anyway or that are necessary travels with casino visits along the way. virtually any vacation the wife and i go on is going to have a jont that has a decent game.
all in all though retirement and advantage play have been a great combination.

I understand what backcounting is, but what do you do/say when you wish to backline a player?
hey Scott. all you do ask the player "hey ole buddy do you mind if i play a chip behind your spot?" i mean you can say anything you want like "hey mind if i share in some of your luck" and then drop a chip down behind their bet on the betting circle. nine times outa ten they'll say no problem.

Just got back from my first successful session as a card counter, feels good, darn good.
Backcounted 8 deck, 70-75pen, da2, das, split up to 4 hands, 2:1 games. Used a 1-2 spread, 1 from RC 25-28, 2 from 29 and over (IRC=0). I was up 35 units at one point, left up 22. Its very reassuring to log a win in the journal.

Jeff.

lol, I meant 3:2, I wish it was 2:1!

Why do you say I'll see more losing sessions then winners with a 1-2 spread? I'll only be betting when I have the advantage.

If you are only playing with the advantage you'll win more often than you lose. Don't you think you can get away with more than a 1-2 spread wonging in?

1-2 spread wonging will work, but he should use at least 1-4 unless the bets are very large. zg

I have a $5000 BR, if my min bet is $5 or $10 what would the max be using the 1-4 spread? ($20/$40?)
You could probably make a 50 dollar top bet, maybe even higher since your risk is lowered because you are only playing positive counts.

If you are strictly "wong-in", bet $10 to 2x$30+. If/when you are doing a "wong-out" approach bet $5-2x$30+. zg
