Very little has changed at Danbury as far as playing conditions since 2009. Almost all the games are double deck games, and the conditions as presented in CBJN I know are accurate since I provided most of them. I believe they added one more blackjack table in the new casino and now have poker and craps.

The old Hole in Wall is now torn down and a new casino has been built on the same site. Where the old casino was is now the parking lot for the new casino. They kept the old hotel and also have a new hotel in the casino. If you are planning on staying there make sure you get hotel reservations as they fill up every weekend. Also the old hotel is much cheaper than the new hotel.

No, the two hotels don't have the same rates. You will pay about twice as much if you stay in the new hotel. Earlier this year they had a $35 special going on rooms in the old hotel. Their web page said it was for January only but they extended it a lot longer than that. I don't know if they extended it into May or not.

I actually made money on my hotel since I used comps to pay for the room and they still gave me the $5 cash voucher. Also you no longer need to earn enough comps for the entire cost of your room. You can apply whatever comps you have earned to the cost and pay for the difference. This was a change from previous policy, and I assume its still in effect. What I recommend doing if you don't have enough comps earned to cover your room when you arrive is to pay cash for the room then go and play for several hours and then go back to the hotel before they close the books for the day and use your comped dollars for the hotel and get a cash refund. I believe they close the books for the day around 2:00 am.

Also on a large cash out they call the pit. Try to cash out several times at different cashiers. However, the bad thing about this place is the cashiers are right next to the pit, and the pit can easily notice if you are at the cashier. However, I would still do it.

I would be interested in a trip report especially any heat received.

Yep, i've been doing the ol repeat cash out routine - I noticed the $500 rule as well.

. I'm talking about the hotel next door to the casino, not the casino hotel. It's pretty nice for $45, has almost everything you could ask for - although I don't spend a whole lot of time in the hotel, so i'm not much for obsessing about anything beyond the basics.

Yes, that is where I always stay. It is now called the "St Croix Lodge." I have yet to stay in the new hotel. In fact parking is much better at the Lodge than the Casino Hotel. You can park right up to to building with hardly any walking.
 
Midwest Player, it really doesn't benefit any of us, or you, to out games like this in CBJN for a few bucks. If it wasn't for the out of the way location and low limits you'd have some angry people.

There is always a trade off in something like this. Of course the foks who know about a good game want to keep it that way. Those who don't know about any good games want information. CBJN is one way to get that information.

My thoughts about this is the pros pretty much have their own networks so they already know about such games. Locals to the area probably know about the games also. CBJN probably helps the those folks who are willing to travel a few hundred miles for a good game.

For some reason CBJN reporting has not effected this game at all. Maybe its the low limits and remote location like you say. However, I probably wouldn't have ever went there if somebody didn't mention this game on BJ21 many years ago. My first report on this game was in 2001 and nothing has changed except they got rid of the bonus for the three sevens.

Also the warning in CBJN about this game is not my warning. Someone else provided that. I always disputed that until my last trip. Now I have some serious questions and I'm not sure what to think. I will give them the benefit of the doubt and assume it was a new dealer who didn't know how to shuffle.

I do take issue with CBJN as just being garbage. I will admit alot of casinos in the Midwest have not been reported on for years but CBJN is better than nothing.

Ditto here, just cannot understand why AP's get involved in CBJN to out their own games.:confused:

This is not meant to show any disrespect to Midwest Player, as I know him to be a fine player and a fine person.
