i need help on keeping track of decks in the discard pile

Buy 6 decks of USED CASINO CARDS on ebay. it will cost you under $8 USD if you live in the US. Then buy a discard tray.

Set it up on a table in your kitchen at a distance similar to what would be in a casino. and practice. this method costs about $15. and will recreate the casino experience pretty well.

as far as drills, you should be able to make them up yourself in terms of preparing for the games you plan to play. where is your major flaw in deck estimation? can you envision where the full 6 decks would line up and then compare that to where they are now? or can you just count decks by looking. you're really just going to have to practice and find what works for you.

i use an unbalanced count but with time in the casino I have found that i'm pretty good as Deck Estimation without having practiced at home. if you sit in a casino long enough black jack gets boring and you start paying attention to details you didn't train at home.

Im not sure about the differences between the thickness of regular cards and casino cards. I can tell you that 6 used decks looks like 7 new decks of the same brand.

Sounds like you need a little help in converting the RC into the TC. Is this true.

Are you practicing on software or the kitchen table?

table but i am using 2 thin decks so i was wondering if this would effect the outcome i am using kems which i bilieve are casino quality and someone posted that casino cards are normaly thinner so i may have the perfect sized cards or they may be to thin also i am planning on getting a discard tray the only thing is i do not want to get 4 more decks of kem cards because they cost $15 a pack without s and p...

i use a hilarious method that i should probably stop doing.. i took a white gift card i had, and marked off 5/8 inch increments on it, marking how many decks are left at each increment, so at the bottom it says 5, then 4 above that, etc, and i hold that up to the discard tray when i sit at 3rd base.. the reason i should stop is probably obvious, but one less obvious reason is this is a crutch for me, and i cant do this every round, so sometimes i have to guess based on 2-3 hands ago

Yes, lets take a look at few examples for a 6D game. Dividing by how many decks are left.Using a RC of +20 in all examples.

DisTray RC+20=TC

5decks/=TC+20(always the same(1) as RC)

4decks/=TC+10(always1/2ofRC)

3decks/=TC+6.66>+7

2decks/=TC+5(Always1/4ofRC)

*1decks/=TC+4**

*Means 1D dealt 5remaining

**The way TC works with indices is lets say, for example your index for a 12vs3 is +2. This means you will NOW be standing because your +2 or higher. In this case were +4 right.
