Put 10,000 hours in at least ,see how she goes
Been at it for 20 years, probably over 20,000 hours. I am a firm believer it takes 30,000 hours to perfect one's craft to be the BEST in the world, like Miles, Coltrane and Monk. I don't have much time left ...

Ha ha ha, I try and be one with the cards but i can never figure out which one i am, the A or the 6 maybe a few more hours will tell, my intuition says I'm an A but I feel like a 6 . Oh wait am I the dealer or the player. That's how intuition works I think. But it's always better to guess correctly than play basic, the problem is guessing correctly only a few have that skill one i seek regularly.

I wouldn't say "guess". I do have my criteria, I just can't confirm to any degree of confidence with scientific proof. Try this yourself. Find a table that is paying, 10 people crowded over, roaring, happy happy with chips. Set aside 5 minimum units and bet behind the more winning square, biggest stack and loudest, Up a few units u stop. Now back count if they let u, bet behind when there is a count. All minimum, just to test out my voodoo hypothesis. Do this 10 times. Turn around, find a table with 2 guys keep peeling every 5 hand. Do the same for 10 times. Or 20 or 30. If u r sincere, u will see and hear blackjack GOD. IT WILL WORK. Don't ask for the impossible. U do need ur count, indices, Kelly, patience, discipline and bankroll. This "thing" will take you to a different dimension. It will take you back to basic character training. Did I make a mistake? If so I don't deserve this hand, this deal, this house, this wife, etc. Be humble. Always have respect for it. Be grateful for what u have, for if not, it/he will knock u down on ur knees and u would wish u would have been grateful for only losing 50 big bets earlier ... Far from GUESSING.
Checkout Wynton Marsalis, arguably the most technical player, if u can write it down he can play it, like a science, but no feeling. Check out miles and Clifford Brown, u can hear their SOULS. Science vs Intuition, technical vs feelings. Which?

Grif (sounds like we r war buddies here hehe): technical question - ace rich in a balanced system. Nobody taught me. I developed my own system other than learning AO2 20 years ago. This is what I do, I use my RC, say 20, as my reference point, I add the surplus ace value, say 4x2 or (20+8) for betting strategy, since BJ is my biggest bonus program. I do the exact opposite (20-8) from the reference point for playing strategy. To me, extra ace is a liability in playing. We play European rules here, unlimited ace split, House can find a backend BJ to take all my bets or extra aces can make the houses stiff go around twice. Hence I have a lot of respect playing ace rich. Your valuable comment is much appreciated Doc.

Concur. When an ace-neutral system uses an ace sidecount for increased betting, the process is reversed for play departures...
... strange that none of the standard ace betting sidecount advisories mention this, except in limited context, like doubling on 11?

Thanx Grif. U mean nobody talked about this much before?

Another Living proof of the intuition of picking tables. After an hour I didn't like this table. A counter and I walked to another pit. One was happy happy with lots of players. The other one was empty with a full tray. I said u either just opened or u r that bad. She said BAD. I said let's watch the other one. Buddy said "don't be stupid. What's the difference?" It was obvious. After dealing with it for half an hour, I knew what was to happen. Double down I would get a 4. Split 8s I would get a 7, a5 dble I would get a face. Stupid me didn't walk away. Finally big count. Juicy part wouldn't come out, kept playing small hence kept getting bigger. Sky high now, 3 squares of max bet. House pulled 21, blacnkjack, 21 then backend BJ. A swing of 24 big bets. Stupid part is I KNEW BETTER. I went to the other table while my buddy insisted to stay for pure science. I got half my money back. Am i the only one that believes in alternative approach for value added play?

I've been at winning tables with people laughing and winning. The table because of the way the dealer shuffled was worth more than other tables. My concern was at the full table my earn was smaller because of my hands per hour but the game was better. As I played anti basic strategy because of my edge people started to get mad and blame their losses on me. As a result they all got mad and left the atmosphere turned rotten. We pounded that table our hand per hour were at least 5X at the empty table now. My intuition said get on that table get those people off and take the tray , we did many times. I felt like we were going to win we did, because of our solid edge. I do believe in intuition but no way to harness it correctly, thus I stick with the math. If it's a good game play it. If you feel unlucky wait till your feeling better sometimes that feeling is from life not the game. Performance is ultimate you must feel good to work if not take the day off, come back later.

Your anecdotal evidence is useless. Show me a simulation that shows that tables running bad tend to stay bad and vice versa.

I wish I could. I can only give you a high co-relationship. For instance, each time Johnny sees a big tattooed man He gets bunch in the head, 10 out of 10 times. 11th time Johnny is hiding, rightfully so. Piece of info missing being he is wearing a shirt with "you are a fag" walking around in the Penn. if we are not smart enough to figure out that piece of info, we will never know why.

The top seven numbers to pop up in the 1758 draws since the National Lottery launch in 1994 have been: 38, 23, 31, 25, 43, 33 and 44. 38 appeared 45% more than 13. Nobody can prove why or how. If you follow the hot numbers world wide and buy 100 tickets each time, for a couple of years, you will likely win 2nd and 3rd prize.

We may need another 180,000 years of civilization to understsnd more about occurrences around us.

Nice to hear your acceptance, albeit reluctant, towards intuitions. I believe in my game and the science wholeheartedly. If they don't ban me for life I like to do it as a retirement gig. 0.8% of roughly 1% of my BR is not enough. Either raise my BR or look for value added play. The former will get the house's nose out of joint, hence the latter.
I have a lot of respect for the blackjack god (if you can call it that). It is a blessing, not a science. We know the degenerates all play wrong. Playing right will upset them hence disturb the positive energy. They have just as much right to blackjack God as I do. Chasing them out will also chase blackjack god away. So science gives me 1-2 point edge. Intuition gives me another 2-5 points. I will give up the playing strategy all day long. Furthermore, are you 100% sure you are dividing 3 decks? 2 3/4? Or 3 1/4? Big difference there.
I am just a greedy guy that wants my science and a little something else on top as well hehe.

Narnia is my guide ,we dont guess at anything , And that's for sure not voo-doo, it's more black magic born In the minds of greats K and M . Ok no more on this thread from me we all get each other and whatever magic makes em go. One more thing the wizards magic , and intuition was guided by his higher power, the lord. Peace out pound that game get the chips get the money get out safely do good with your talents. He was and still is my role model on the game and in life.

Sorry folks. Stated my opinion once and responded to friendly comments. Didn't mean to upset you. I am sure u r. PhD/scientist with interest in gaming odds. They may not be real life gaming experts anyways. First time I met bill eagdinton, in 2001, father of commercial gaming, I saw a situation and put 3 bets on the table while still talking, he looked surprise. In 2003 he invited both myself and Johnny Chang, to speak at his international conference of gaming and risk taking. $20,000-$25000 a year is all u r gonna do. Even if u play with a team. That's just not enough for me. I am trying to increase my take by exploring. Won't bring this up unless someone asks.
