First off I was losing (down about 20 units after 3 hours) so I wasn't particularly happy. Then I proceeded to sit down at a table being dealt by a woman who looked and acted like she would rather be anywhere else in the world. She then proceeded to give the following advice to players who were asking
1) Go with your gut when you have a 13
2) You shouldn't double an 11 vs. face
3) Ridiculed someone for not doubling S16 vs. 2
4) Said all the pros in Vegas play with their gut
4) Ridiculed me for splitting 3's vs. 5
And this is the point where I lost it. I just told her that it was the right play and I would think someone who sits here and does this every day would at least know a little more than she does. Then I told her that pros do not play with their gut and it's all math, She asked me if I played poker, I told her yes and she said "well what do you do's there" You's goes with yo gut sometime dontcha?" I said in poker you are not playing against a person with the same set of rules that they have to play by like a blackjack dealer does. I then asked her if she thought her gut was more accurate that a computer that has simulator billions of hands determining what the right thing to do is every time. To that she said some nonsense about me hitting my 16 against a face and always busting. At this point I was just out of breath and pissed off. Oh she also said she never plays blackjack, only video poker so she's a real genius. Has anyone else just lost their cool like that? I know it was the wrong thing to do, won't happen again, I just felt like venting to someone.
BTW my last hand was my only 8 unit bet of the night. 10/10 vs. 4 and that b!tch spikes a 21. Goodnight.
