looking for a mentor

My current training is deck.estimation. I'm calibrating my eyes and i do.notice.my progression. Right now I can take a cut card and.cut.off a single.deck to within 2 cards.
I play a lot of kitchen table bj with my girlfriend. Shes curious enough to learn bs, so im teaching her. Teaching also reinforces what i know, so thats good.training. when we play I deal four.hands plus dealer playing under the.conditions of.my 4d game. At work.i also have the oppertunity to train. I work swing shift in a nursing home as an aide. At the end of.my night I play cards with some of.my residents. Bj, holdem, five.card draw, rummy... etc. We break out chips and i deal single.deck.games. I can count and deal and help them play and deal with their 'behaviours.' I work in a.mental health facility so i am knee deep in alzheimers, bipolar, schizophrenia, huntingtons carrea... etc etc.

Maybe you didn't INTEND to come across this strongly; maybe it was just a poor choice of words on your part. If you only knew how often we get someone to burst upon the scene with this pedantic, "I'm gonna own the world by tomorrow" attitude.

I'm not trying to use periods. My phone is my most reliable source of internet atm and its one of these effin touch screen phones. Damn thing is.very inaccurate. Space is right next to period, and when I hit space its a crap shoot which one I'm gonna get. I go back and delete the periods yet when post there.they are.
Good read. Id like to think that I have few illusions about the games glamor. I haven't played many live games, but I learn from others. I've.watched players chew through 2k in 30 minutes at my usuall haunt. $5 min!!! I train very hard and there are days where i feel my brain has fried from processing all the information.
But half the fun is because it requires so much effort. There is no feeling quite like walking in to their casino and walking out with their money and knowing that it wasn't luck it was skill that won the day. Its the winning that i like. I make 11.27 and hour, 18.03 when I double noc shift. I probly make more from my job than I will at bj, at least for the foreseeable future.
I'm.somehing of a risk taker. I like to backpack, and i cant tell you how many times I've.been in foriegn countries up a creek without a paddle. This one time in germany (short version).... I was mugged, left in berlin and had a small bag, a laptop, and a deck of cards. With no money I wondrred how i was gonna eat that day. I had learned a few magic.tricks.with cards and i used u tube to quickly learn some more easy but very entertaining tricks. Then it was time to hits the street and bars and get to buskin.
Didn't matter that I spoke almost no german. Didn't matter that I was scared, or broke, or worried. I had to work.with what I had and if this was gonna work, I had to push all.those.emotions outta my head and turn to.
On average I made 10 euros in 4 hours. Wasn't much, but with the.help of.friends and.allies I made during this time I pulled through and got home.
Sorry for the long and personal story. Not trying talk myself up or anything, but I just wanted.it.to be known that I'm no stranger to grinding :joker:my way back to sqare one.

Hello zen. Was guided to yer interview and I must say rom what i read it was pretty interesting stuff. playing in a wheelchair to see hole card. did yu actually get away with it?
'Nother newbie question. I read.different things and some say don't waste.time.with tc/te indicies and others say that index plays not only increase your ev but also work well for camo. Any thoughts on this?

Well we are part online trainers and ego bashers here cowboy. It's tough in the trenches and we take no prisoners on the site. We all backroom any noobie poster to see if you can handle the onslaught. No personal attacks are in order just a wake up call. Let me continue this little chat by saying that this.is one of he many reasons why i absolutely disdain the internet. Horrendous means of communication. I NEVER meant to come across sounding anything close to what 21gun has just said, and when I reread my posts I still don't see how I come across that way, but judging fron.your.responses I must be.
Communication involves a hell uva lot more than reading 14 posts and sizing someone up. In person I'm actually quite charismatic and have a flare for the theatric. But thats neither here nor there. Internet communication is just one more way that technology offers us a cheap knockoff of real human experience.
Consider this. Communication involves several subtle aspects like body language, tone of voice, eye contact, and those oh so hard to pin down intuitive faculties that get involved. None of.that has anything to do with typing on my cell phone, which btw IS DOING THE PERIOD.THING. seriously, I know where my space key is. I'm. Not dumb enough to sub in a period.
I honestly feel I'm being judged more for.my ability to type than for my personality or ability to play bj. Which is evidenced by the fact that weve spent more time discussing 'posting wisely' than the game of.friggen blackjack!!

I can answer this with an emphatic hellz no. I sit there all day taking punishment, hoping for the nice violent upswing, which sometimes comes, sometimes doesn't.
Unless you lose your concentration after playing a long time, I would recommend you play as long as possible. Jeez, there are plenty of times I sit there moderately up, and piss it all away.
