looking for feedback on new site

I'm cross posting this from the card counting forum (sorry if that is against the rules ... )

Hi All,

I'm working a new blackjack website. The url is (Dead link: http://www.cardcite.com)

**if my dns hasn't propagated yet try the ip (Dead link: http://67.23.22.144)

I'm looking for any and all feedback, I know there are a few issues to work out but I really wanted to get this out there and hear what you think.

The chart on the bottom is showing the running raw count with the true count displayed as a green dot, let me know if it makes sense.

I have a ton of ideas that I want to add to this but I need a breather

Allow player option for late surrender. How many decks is this sim using? I hit a snafu where it would not allow me to hit 13 vs 7? Good idea but looks like long way to go.

insurance. show dealer hole card after player busts. How many decks are used and penetration. Pick the count you want to use. Side counting options.

Lots of potential

I think your site has lots of potential. I am not very techinically inclined...and I found it to be user friendly. I wasn't clear what count was being used? Hi Lo? Opt I or II, ect? It would be nice to have the ability for user to pick a counting system. I agree with above posts re: insurance, surrender and side counts.

Good luck and keep us posted as to completion and accessibility.

thanks for the feedback

It is using 6 decks. I'm not sure the name of the count but it assigns +1 to 2-6, ignores 7,8,9 and -1 to 10,J,Q,K,A

The white dot is the raw count and the green dot is the raw count divided by the number of decks still in shoe from 6 to 1.

I want to make the counting system customizable so that you can pick a count from a drop down list or enter your own ... I'm just not sure if I want to go the route of supporting user accounts so that you wouldn't have to re-setup a counting system the next time you come back.

I am going to add some kind of shoe summary at the end of the shoe that shoes any mistakes in basic strategy that you made as well as places where you were not betting efficiently. Again an account management system would allow me to save that data in a db so that players could review it later.

I'm not really familiar with late surrender as I never play in casinos that offer it. I wasn't really planning on offering insurance because I've read that you should never take it but if I run out of things to add I can get around to those.

Some of these comments suggest to me that you are not a counter. If that's the case why are you creating this program? Just curious.

reasons for making the site

I am interested in getting into card counting but I did not like any of the sites I saw a couple of years ago. I built another site in html that used ajax later on but I could not get the animations to work very well. So I have learned flash programming and coded up this current site. The animations were easy and I did not have to hack anything. So what I have now is a stable base to build upon.

I would like to build this site up to something useful and then put some banner ads on it and just let it run. At this point I have a couple of ideas for other websites that I have been kicking around that do not involve blackjack, which knowing flash will help with.

I guess the main reason I do this is to do fun/interesting coding that is different from the coding I do at my day job.

Also what does it mean to say "Its a cookbook"?

Insurance is the most important index to a counter. Late surrender you give up half your bet to end the hand before you draw a card. If the dealer has BJ you lose your entire bet.

Can you point me to some info about insurance and counting? Everything I have read says you should never take insurance.
You take insurance at TC>=+3. This will be mentioned in any blackjack card counting book you buy.

As the count rises your bets get bigger. Once it is high enough the insurance bet is advantageous to the player. This keeps you from losing your big bets. Your advantage on this bet accumulates quickly as the index is exceeded because it has a high correlation to any counting system, tens good any other card bad.

I have been working with websites for about 10 years now. This is my first project with the Flash programing language. I needed Flash for the kinds of graphics that I wanted to do.

I am going to take the advice from this thread and make improvements over the coming weeks.

Good luck, I hope at some point you may have a marketable product. I certainly appreciate you coming here before building a product catering to a very specific group.... If you can incorporate more features, let's say to a mobile platform, you'll get my money....

First of all when you split a pair it goes on your system from right to left it should be from left to right. Second your stragedy guide is off you don't double a 7 I don't care if the dealer has a 6 up and hits soft 17.

HIOPT II TC +19 you double 7 v 6 in a S17 game. I have seen that high of a TC but never got a 7 v 6 to try that move.
