mountaineer & wheeling island update
been there done that.......
wheeling island looked to me all eight deck tables s17das insurance offered no resplit aces, not sure how many times they let you resplit others . they looked to be cutting about a deck and a half or more. they have the potential for operating about sixteen blackjack tables give or take. when i was there they only had about six or seven bj tables operating. on certain days of the week they claim they offer five dollar tables. they have calendars that show what days they offer the five dollar tables. i guess you could call them to find out when or get a hold of one of those calendars. i didn't see any csm's on any of the blackjack tables. they use those up and down asm's where one pack is dealt while another is shuffled. when i was there they had a $100 min table, and either a $25 or $15 min table and some $10 min tables up and running. all going with the same rules and same number of decks. i didn't see a high limit room or section. didn't play there either. no idea about heat but it didn't appear sweaty lol.
sorry don't know how to play poker so no info on the poker room. they had one though lol. didn't see any spanish 21 tables.
this joint has a dog track but they weren't running that day.
...........
mountaineer was all eight deck tables s17das insurance offered no resplit aces, not sure how many times they let you resplit others. but i think i resplit at least three times at least once with no complaint. no late surrender. they looked to be cutting about a deck and a half or more but less than two. sometimes the pen was better. no exact count on bj tables but i'd say they have the potential to operate about thirty bj tables. i saw $5, $10, $15 & $25 tables. then they have a high limit room in addition. think it had about six tables or so. not sure about the rules in the high limit room or the pen ect. they use the double ASM shuffler like Wheeling uses. no funny side bet bonus's. didn't see any spanish 21 tables. they have three card poker but from what i heard the pay table is crap.
not a very attractive place for wonging. they keep the tables pretty much filled to capacity. well maybe could wong their $25 table or a ten dollar table. but they keep it pretty tight. and it's true they had a couple of three dollar tables open. didn't get to play them as they were constantly full. think they are open 2pm - 10pm mon thru thursday. they claim to have five dollar tables 24/7. of course they play with how many they leave open it appears as it strikes their fancy.

but even late night or early morning they seemed to keep the number of tables open tight so as to fill them as much as possible.
this joints got a horse track. but the horse weren't running the days i was there. stayed in their hotel, nice digs, good eats.
so but it was what it was but i got to meet and play with a legend from here on blackjackinfo.com an enigma if you will. lol. i was constantly in fear and awe that he might at anytime empty that chip rack! well maybe next time lol.
let me tell you the man can play and talk and drink with out missing a beat. and a really unique method of camoflauge. he even had the dealer advising us on the ratio of high to low cards left in the pack.
dude lost his patience with me when i couldn't leave him know he was gonna nail a snapper. but hey what can i say? at least i was able to cop an ice cream cone off him lol.
edit.... oh yeah and i forgot. i bet the cocktail waitress's will never forget us
