MS Gulf Coast report

Was in Gulfport and Biloxi this week...August 27-29.
Played at the Hard Rock, Beau Rivage, Treasure Bay, Isle of Capri and Island View. There were several $3 games if you don't mind playing 6 deck shoes and ASM. There were 6 deck shoe games for $5 at every casino. BJ paid 3:2, Insurance 2:1, most were dealer stands on all 17, double any first two, DAS, multiple splits allowed, no surrender. There were plenty of SD games for $5 and $10 min, all were 6:5 and limited splits and doubles. Several casinos are (finally) offering DD pitch for less than $25. You can play DD with all the good rules on a slow weekday at the following....
Island View in Gulfport for $15.
Treasure Bay in Biloxi for $10.
Isle of Capri in Biloxi for $15.
All the casinos offered $5 min craps and Isle of Capri even had a $3 min craps table.
The only Casino to offer the 4:1 odds for a flush in three card poker was Treasure Bay. All the rest have the diluted 3:1 odds for the flush.
$3 games? and Asm not Csm? im jealous! i have to drive to the 5th closest casino to my house (1 hour) just to get s17 6 deck games with $10 min, and they just completed the i-355 extension down to joliet, which means i have 2 casinos that are now 20 minutes from me that i cant go to! one of them has a sweet game (-.36%) if your a BS player and/or use an unbalanced count and/or dont mind $15 tables, which i am none of those

Yup, ASM

Yup, there are some CSM in Biloxi. Very few though! Most of the time you find a CSM, it is on a 6:5 game or some other disadvantage game. Beau has some on a few of their tables, but are in a very low limit pit. If you want the $5 min at Beau, you have to tolerate the dreaded CSM.

ASM are found just about everywhere. Some casinos have tables with the same rules next to each other, one table is ASM and one table is hand shuffled. I asked about it at Island View, and they said that they just haven't got around to getting another one! No good reason!

$3 games are rare but available on slow weekdays during off hours.

I consider it pretty darn good. Someone else may be able to tell you the actual advantage/disadvantage for the DD games that are available.

I'm sure that is a matter of experience, betting levels and personal opinion. I have not experienced any serious Bj heat. Although I am not a blackchip player. I always play the lowest min table I can find. Sometimes that is a $25 table. My bets normally range from 1-4 units at that level. But if I find the $10 or $15 min table, I spread more units (1-6 units) for less, still under the Blackchip. I have not experienced any heat, and have not seen anyone else get it while I was there.

Absolutely! There are a lot of blackchip players there. Some even play purple ($500) and orange($1K). That may even be one of the reasons I have not had any heat. I am almost never the highest better at the table or in the Bj pit. There are a lot of times I will play heads up with the dealer on a $25 min table, and they don't give me a second glance when I bet $25 at the top of the deck constantly but later spread, like I said to $100. Most of the time they (MS casinos) are very accommodating. When I enter a $25 min table and it is off peak, I ask to lower the table min and very seldom have I been denied.

Miss coast has great rules for DD 10 of the 11 casinos have DD with house edge of .19 or 14. Half the casinos will only give your 50% pen and one casino will give you slightly worse than 50%, four casinos you will get 60%+ pen. IP casino is very dealer dependent a lot of dealers you will only get 50% and a couple dealers you can get up to 65% pen.

I have recieved heat from two casinos one of them it was due to overplaying. Gulf coast casinos are pretty tolerant of green action.

Going to Biloxi again

I have been away from Bj and craps for several months. I'm going to Biloxi and Gulfport next week. Sharpening up before the trip. Even a few months layoff, and you can tell how rusty one gets. The strategy is 100% but slower, the counting is 100% acurate but real slow!

Biloxi and Gulf Port

Just returned from the Gulf coast. Monday to Wednesday trip. During slow the days.
Hard Rock has changed their DD $25 min to $50. They keep the high limit room closed most of the time, and the one table on the floor that has DD becomes the high limit table, $50 min!! SD is $10 min but 6:5. Their regular Bj and 21+3 was not bad, 6 deck shoe (not csm), Bj 3:2, $5 min, all good rules. Craps tables were all $5 min.
Island Veiw still has DD for $15 min. and $25 min. Both good games and good rules. They also had regular Bj with a 6 deck shoe (not csm), Bj 3:2, $5 min, all good rules. Their craps tables were all $5 min.
Beau has not changed anything in the Bj pit. DD was available for $25 min at several tables. Most of the time if you want a $5 min Bj, you had to play the csm. SD was available for 6:5. The craps tables were all $10 min.
IP had lots of DD for $25 min on their main floor in the Bj pit area. But if you were willing to check, they also offered DD $25 min in the high limit area. The high limit area has very few players so you get one on one with no noise and very little smoke. Great for concentration! The craps tables were all $5 min.
Didn't get a chance to play the other casinos. Maybe someone else has been to the other establishments more recently and give an update.

Biloxi and Gulfport or bust

I am planning a trip to Gulfport and/or Biloxi. Maybe as early as this coming week or weekend. Has anyone been there lately? Any new updates or reports on the DD games and the craps.

Bust

Looks like the trip is off for a couple of weeks. I delayed making my reservations because of Ike. Now I call and they are all booked up! :flame:
May just have to make it the end of the month and wait for the crossover days next month.

DD at IV

Yes, I've played there often.
They normally have DD in both pits. When only one is open (during slow time) they have the DD for $15 min. When it picks up and gets busy, they open the second table for $25 min. Both games are pretty good. When were you there last? Was it recent?

Just back and going again

Just got back from MS Gulf coast. Went to Island View, Isle of Capri, Palace and Hard Rock. Had a fantastic weekend. Won big! Am going back at the end of the week again for the weekend.
DD is alive and well down there. There was even a $3 shoe in The Palace.
They are a sweat shop though!!! :whip:

Hard Rock rocks

The rooms at HR rock....
The rooms have Bose sound systems in them. The beds all have pillow top mattress'. the showers have THREE shower heads, one on each wall and one directly above. With 4 or 5 settings, you can adjust the shower any way you want. It is great!:p

Gulf coast

It sounds like there's more positive news than negative coming from MS trip reports! Louisiana also has been a good destination for me. I wish Vegas would pay more attention. Love it down here!
