My friend is going to Vegas

Give him $200 and your Total Rewards card, and ask him to play your $200 through with your card all in one day. Completely through until it is all gone or there is more than $1000 in winnings. Ask him to play all his own slot play at a Harrah's property with your card.
You'll end up saving more than $200 when you get comped rooms, and give your friend some free entertainment. And there's that minuscule chance of winning enough to boost your bankroll.

I can't go, but my friend is going. How can I use my friend to "prime the pump?" so to speak?
Depends on what pump you want to prime. Have him scout for you or be your heat detector if that is what you mean. It depends on if your friend has any redeeming qualities.

Just curious what to do on the odd chance you hit triple, triple red seven or similar and have to provide ID for the IRS?

I dont think its illegal to play with someone elses card. But what do I know. Would the casino try not to pay?
Actually had this happen is why I ask.

Was taking a break from the tables and wife went to the ladies room. I kept playing on her card and hit for about $1700. Total Fluke. Big light and noise above the machine.

Security arrived about the same time as my wife returned. We just said she walked away to get a cell signal to call her family. I am sure the eye would have showed different, but no one really seemed concerned. We had to give ID for the 1099.

Since that time I have always wondered what to do if she had not been there.

Of course the casino has to pay. As far as you are concerned, you don't have a card of your own, and you simply were playing the machine unaware that someone elses card was in the machine.
Players card? Whats a players Card?
Of course, you need to have one to give him in the first place.

I can see one scenario where you put in the wrong player's slot card, that is, your spouse's card instead of yours. By accident of course.

I don't know if you can accidentally put in your friend's card instead of yours, and get away with that.

Maybe it is best to just claim that you didn't know there was a player's card in the machine. But when they back up the tapes, you'll be seen inserting it... so I'm not sure how that would fly.

Oh that's easy. Ask someone else to put in your friends players card. Maybe give him a few coins to play with. On the tape it will look like he forgot his card (or deposited it there on purpose to collect points). You didn't notice the card of course ...

It is very improper to play slots with someone else's card.

You cannot collect the >$1,200 jackpots without picture I.D. and Social Security Number.

Attempting to collect a TAXABLE win under someone else's name is clearly a prosecutable offense.

Well when you claim the jackpot you give them your real name/SSN.

I'm not sure on the legality of using someone else's player card, but if you're dumb enough to try to claim the jackpot under that name then that's 100% a felony.

Why can't he tell that the card was there in the slot machine. There is no obligation to remove the player's card before playing slots.

My brother is a platinum M life card holder and he's a huge slot player.. He plays at the minimum $5 machines. He plays up to 3 machines at a time, while he's doing this I jam my card in there.. On 4 occasions we hit exactly $1200 all on my card.. As soon as this happened we popped out my card and put it in another machine. When they came to verify the jackpot my brother gave his players card and they asked him "do we have all your info?". He replied "yes".. 5 minutes later they came back and hand paid him not knowing my card was used.

Another time we had simply pulled out my card after hitting a $1200 jackpot and the same lady came, glanced at us then came back with the cash. Hand pay.

This was all at the mirage in about 4 hours worth of play.. I came there at an entry level sapphire and left the next morning at gold tier (second best).

You really shouldn't worry at all about using someone else card.

because the cameras show YOU sticking the card in the slot?

Best thing to do IMO is pull the card out and when they come to ask you for ID and what not just give em your real info.

Telling lies in this situation will only make things worse.

Often times when I get my cards made they ask if I want 2 cards so my wife can use one on the slots while I hit the tables. I know sometimes in the casino the right hand doesn't know what the left is doing when you talk about casino employees but the two situations, encouraging my wife to use my card in a slot machine and giving her trouble when she wins, don't seem to go together very well.

As an occasional slot player, I often walk away from a machine without taking out my card. Its only when I sit at the next machine, I realize it, and have to go back looking for the machine. It hasn't happened but I could easily find a card in a machine like the one I was playing and take it without checking it.
I can't imagine a casino turning you down for a jackpot because another persons card was in the machine. The case of the two women was different as they tried to say it was the one person when the video showed it was the other woman.
