My WOV 'rant' thread

I just hope anyone reading this realizes I would never do anything badly to anyone or any casino. My rants after losses have been like this for as long as i can remember dating back to my competitive video game days. Sure it's absolutely no excuse to say the stuff I have said online, but what people dont understand is that the main reason I say this crazy stuff is because it's so hard to put my anger into words online immediately after a loss where people can really see how frustrated I am after a loss or the feeling of me being cheated, so because of that I have to say these crazy things that I obviously would never do to anyone just so people actually realize how frustrated I actually am and after 5 or 10 minutes i regret what i said because its just a short term anger burst, and only because I think ive been cheated whcih adds to the frustration

I have a lot of regret about the stuff i said and i will not post on any forums probably ever again because it's an unhealthy outlet for me and makes me look like an absolute nutcase which I'm not. All my rants are immediately after losses and gives a really bad impression about who i am. I'm probably as competitive as it gets when it comes to either making money as an AP, sports, succeeding at video games, etc. and I dont really know how to lose, which is probably my biggest flaw and tend to create patterns or relations in my head towards other things to blame for my losses. Yes I have a flaw which is hard to believe, but I guess it's time to admit that. Sure I still dont trust these games in this city at least at several places not just in vegas, but around the country, but I'm starting to realize I either need to quit permanently or just suck up the losses and keep playing because nothing will ever change no matter how often I cry on these forums or rant or whatever else I say on here.

Just want to clear things up because there's a lot of chatter on the other forum about me and what I've said on there where I cannot defend myself since I'm now banned on there. From the people who actually know me they all can vouch for me that I'm a good person when I'm not in the moment after a loss at anything. When I'm not losing I'm a completely different person, I just hate losing and need to work on that. The rants are always immediately after a loss and last 5 minutes and then. I'm back to normal. Maybe I need anger management therapy or whatever idk.

I just want to clear up anything I have said up to this point.

Most of us know true you. You are harmless. You won't hurt people even you talk tough. And many readers of WOV are very disappointed because you are their entertainment.

ZenKing, I have been a big supporter of you (from afar) during your Vegas experience. From almost day 1, back when you had that long thread still planning your trip, I didn't like your participation at WoV. Most of the members there were baiting you to say things you regret and would be suspended for. They think that kind of thing is funny. That is their entertainment. And while I know you have met some of the guys from "the good old boys club" over there and a few of them like you and sincerely want to help you (Mike included), there are still some in THAT club that enjoy "baiting" you and watching the fallout.

I think both here, and on the other site that has frequent discussions about WoV, I have always defended your rants as "venting". A lot of players myself included, sometime need to vent a little in the midst of a pretty negative run. I always thought and publicly said that is what you were doing, although probably taking it to the extreme.

That said, I found this last post of yours pretty disturbing. At the very least, you need to re-evaluate whether this lifestyle is for you and if you are cut out for it, because you really are not handling the swings associated with blackjack card counting very well (to say the least).

I don't know what the answer is for you. You have to find that out. But I sincerely hope you seek and find happiness, because from your postings, I don't see a lot of happiness over your last 2 years experience in Vegas. Find happiness Zenking....find happiness.

Just out of curiosity may I please ask how long you have been playing ZenKing? Are you full time? I am making a small step upward in my game and always like to get a report from the front lines. As I remember, over the years, I have enjoyed a lot of your output. Good luck Brother.

I think that anyone who has met ZK in person and/or talked to him in depth knows that he wouldn`t ever do anything crazy. I know that doesn`t excuse whatever it is that he said and he has to stop doing it, but I just wanted to chime in my opinion. It`s probably really hard to believe from some of his behavior on the internet, but in person he`s a relaxed and likable guy. Anyway, as he suggested, he needs to stay off of forums completely and I have said that to him before. He needs a healthier way of venting because obviously he has a quirk where he starts rage-typing when he`s pissed and goes off the deep end. ZK, the next hot shoe you win, go out and buy a punching bag!

Zenking, you really have done it this time...really created quite a shit storm with people that have met you defending you as "oh he would never do anything like that" and people who don't wanting WoV admin to contact authorities. I am not going to weigh in on that one, but I do have a question from a blackjack angle.

Venting aside, because like I said, many of us have the need to occasionally 'vent' during an extended losing run, especially a loner type player who may not have someone in their life to share the experiences of the ups and downs of blackjack play with. But related to this and somewhat contradictory is a professional and/or serious blackjack player's need to be able to check emotions when playing. If a player can't check his her emotions, it will result in "chasing losses" almost guaranteeing a losing outcome. In addition to "chasing losses" there can be other very negative consequences, like playing too long, trying to dig out. Players losing often mistakenly think that losing buys them some kind of immunity and play way too long over-exposing themselves whether they manage to dig out or not. As a matter of fact successfully digging out of a huge loss, can actually be one of the worst things from an over-exposure standpoint that a player can do.

So my question is: with this competitive streak that those claiming to know you saying you have, is it possible that results in you staying in one place too long playing, trying to dig out? Trying to win? get the best of them? This is something I have actually been wondering for a while. I remember you "venting" about your suspicions of Planet Hollywood cheating you. My reaction would be something like if a player REALLY thought this (and I have about a couple properties), the thing to do would be stop playing there. Ya know "there are plenty of fish in the sea" mentality. But YOUR response seemed to be that you had this need to keep going back....keep playing....and get the best of them.

So is it possible this competitive streak in you results in some sort of loss of emotion (or common sense) at the tables? And if you answer "no" as I suspect, how do you know this is not effecting you, your play, your results?

Even if this comment isn`t directed at me, I feel the need to clarify what I said in my above post and why. There`s defending someone, and then there`s just giving your inside viewpoint of a situation, as in, "this is what it is". I said what I did for both reasons. But as for the latter, it was because I knew that someone would bring it up or link it in the WoV forum, that way the people who were freaked out by what he said would see it and could feel better knowing that he`s not someone that`s going to do something crazy. I just read through the thread over there, and my prediction came true, this post is linked. So I wasn`t defending him as in there`s any excuse for what he`s said, because there`s not. I was just defending the position that despite sounding like a lunatic at times on forums, he`s not and it`s his venting mechanism. Doesn`t make it right, but from someone who knows him, I think his post above is genuine in terms of what`s going on with his ranting. And no, he never asked me to say any of this. I`m sure with what happened he`s learned his lesson this time in terms of saying things that are over the line.

That thread is disturbing ZK -- you clearly have tilt issues, and should talk to a professional. Not necessarily strictly from a worried about you committing violence on yourself or others -- I'm thinking it would benefit you from a game perspective.

If your mind is this tilty, how do you know you were actually cheated? Why couldn't you have just started losing the count/making incorrect plays as you devolved into thinking you were losing because it's rigged?

Regardless, talk to somebody. Threatening to light up casinos with an assault rifle on an internet forum is serious business, and somebody probably did alert the LVPD about it. LV has had several shootings in casinos over the last few years, so this isn't an okay thing to say anywhere for any reason.

How do you delete posts of others? If THAT can be done I want to delete some of 21forme's posts. The guy makes no damn sense to me. :p

There are some haters and trolls on this site no doubt, but not as overrun as other forums. I don't know maybe I am overly optimistic, but I think the number is fewer than it seems, but the haters/trolls are very active. They make lots of accounts on all forums, and just troll away. I really think (maybe hope) it is really just a couple bitter dudes.

However the SCG post above is really inappropriate. I don't know if he and ZK are friends and that is just some ribbing between friends or not, but I hope we aren't going to turn into THAT kind of trollfest forum.
