hi guys, im from Argentina, im thinking abt start learning card counting and anything possible to get more adv when playing blackjack. Im really new, i just played real blackjack (i mean in an casino) once, and i loose 200 bucks :(

well, im a little confused trying to choice one of the counting methods available. I noticed that i can sit in any table in the middle of the cards for example , so i can wait to get an nice adventage to start playing...

about the counting method, will be HILO better to KO? i know that all the methods are good, but want to start with an safe one, dont want to spend time learning to count cards and later need to switch no another.

well, i will still reading this forum (i was all the night reading).

where can i get an chart of the basic strategy?

Best Regards
Jose

K-O is the easiest counting system to learn, once you have mastered this system and can count with no mistakes in a casino enviroment you can easily change to a better system. Basic Strategy cards, and books including Knock-out Blackjack are available at this site main page on the books and software side bar.

Hi Jose,

Did you play in "El Bote" in Capital Federal? My dad lives in Buenos Aires and I have played that casino and the one in Mar del Plata. The blackjack games in these casinos are extremely difficult to beat. They basically cut half the deck and burn the first 5 cards. You would have enter the game when the count is +2 or more.

Your basically expected to lose everytime you play in these games.

I was new to counting about a year ago. After reading KO and Blackbelt, I decided to learn KO. I've been practicing my speed with it and playing in home tournaments which I've seen it work well at. Pretty soon I will be ready to try in actual play.

well, i never played in "el bote" already, like 5 months ago a new casino opened at 50km from my city. there was the first time that i played real blackjack, and i lost 200$ :(

i dont remember very well how was the game, but i think that they have 6 decks and just burn the first after the cut.

i visited the casino from "mar del plata" too, but didnt play it, i will visit an casino located in "cordoba" this weekend, i will try to found how many decks they use and if they burn 5 cards.

i already found some guys in an spanish forum, i asked abt if they know the rules of the argentinian casinos.

well i started today practicing KO using one deck, how long would be great to practice a day?

take me like 50 seconds to count the 52 cards (one/one), i need to do that in like 25-30 seconds right?

samsagaz-

How much you practice each day depends on how quickly you want to get good at it, which is totally up to you.

Tonight I tried counting through a deck one by one. Did it in 52 seconds both times. I can consistently do it in less than 25 seconds, but only by counting the cards in groups of three.

You'll find counting in pairs is easier. Eventually, just hold the deck in front of you and fan through them so you don't have to waste time flipping them over. Doing it this way, I count down a deck in 14 - 16 seconds.

yes, im not flipping them over :D

i tryied just saying 1 (if the card is 2,3,4,5,6,7) and M (on 10, J, Q, K, A) using the whole deck and take me like 20-25 seconds. i want to do that in less than 20, and after that start counting the cards..... i want to identify each card really fast before start counting it.

sorry for my english..

Don't get into the habit of actually saying "one" out loud, just say it in your head. You'll never say "one" when you get dealt a card at a casino so don't start doing it now, because you'll have to break the habit later.

My personal recommendation would be to start keeping count of the cards right away. Just take it slow at first and focus on accuracy, then build up speed as you go.
