I've heard another, similar way of casino cheating is a "short deck" or "short shoe", I forget which, in which the shoe is intentionally shuffled with a preponderance of high cards on one side which is then cut out of play.
Like any other trick shuffling, it's still f'in magic as far as I'm concerned.

yes this does happen and Renzey talks about it in Blackjack Bluebook II. but what i wonder about is when a positive situation such as you describe presents in that manner do you realize the fruits that said positive situation promises? that is doesn't the fact that the positive situation remains mean that your optimal bets haven't been realized since the count hasn't fallen which if it had fallen meant that those aces and faces came out?

I see where you are going Sage but you are incorrect. The count does not have to drop for you to realize the advantage of the high count. The count will remain unbalanced, meaning even if the TC stays exactly the same, more positive cards will come out because there are more of them left.
For example, which 8d would you play with, if the count always stayed the same? One with all the 10 pips taken out, (like in Spanish) a regular deck, or one with 32 extra 10s? You would always be playing with a huge edge even if the count stayed even with extra 10s.
Whether or not the count goes up or not doesn't matter. We raise our bets because we have the advantage on the next hand. The high count will always increase our BJs, pat doubles and dealer busts, on average.
two months ago i was at my all time high. i was way above my expected winrate. then i had about three hefty losing sessions interspersed with some small winning sessions. took me 16 sessions to claw my way back up to the all time high. just got there three days ago.Definately, as getting to the advantage point will take at least 1 deck, and usually more. Heads up, thats a lot of hands you are playing at a small disadvantage. There is nothing more beautiful than a +20 after one deck in a 8d shoe, knowing that you get to play big money for pretty much the rest of the shoe. Waiting for your wong in chance can get tiresome but then again it lasts a lot longer. BTW... have you been doing better since your negative flux? I know they are tough as I am in one right now, but I hope you are hanging on.
It took me 3 weeks to make a 600 unit profit, only to lose 320 in 4 days.
