Online Casino Comps

Here's a question potentially aimed at the mathematicians and bonus whorers out there -

I've got an account with an online casino whose blackjack rules are 6decks, DOA, DAS, No Surrender, CSM - pretty standard stuff

The question is ...they pay 1% in comps for all bets qualifying bets so with me playing perfect basic and earning 1% for my play am I effectively playing zero edge?

For example I turned over something like £4200 in May/June and today (25th monthly) I was credited with £42. There's no turnover/wager requirement so it's not a bonus as such becuase i could cash it straight out.

.....I didn't of course, I started grinding and now we're at £300

I don't believe you. Even dumb online casinos aren't dumb enough to offer a comp rate for blackjack that's greater than the house advantage.

Or, there's enough restrictions on the use of comps so that actually using them still results in an overall house edge.

No.

You are playing at an advantage.

You sure you're not off by a zero somewhere? Like wagered 42000 maybe?

In the old days anyway it was usually $1 for every thousand wagered which is 0.1% rather than 1%.

In that case you are still playing at a disadvantage but a lesser one than BS only.

A while back there was a online casino that offered a SD game with ~HE -0.1%. So sometimes they are that dumb of just nice. Remember there is still alot of players out there who doesnt play BS.

I would say that's true, they'd make far more off all the ploppies than the few serious players will take

Against software I can easily play 200 hands per hour. Suppose your average bet was £10 per hand. 200 X £10 = £2000 per hour. So, during May/June, do you think you played 2 hours, or was it more like 20?

Usually it's pretty easy to tell if you wagered 4200 or 42000, the numbers are KINDA far apart..

Im sorry to say that you are a zero off.
You get 1comp point for every £10 wagered on BJ. And for every 100 point you exchange you get £1. So thats £1/£1000wagered so thats -EV, sorry but you should stop playing or you will loose your money. However if you play to get the bonus they offer every month you have the advantage. You should earn about £30 a month on that bonus playing BJ.
