Usually when our ongoing hi-lo vs level 2 or 3 count debate arrises, someone will chime in with something along the lines of most professional players use hi-lo. I am wondering how true that really is and would like to do a poll. I use hi-lo and believe it to be more than adequate, but I suspect this poll may prove that saying incorrect. We shall see. The word 'professional' will probably make this poll a little hairy, but come on people, you know if you play professionally or not. I am once again defining it as "the majority of your income comes from blackjack play".

If you don't now play 'professionally' but did previously, please record your vote based on that time. This includes team play.

I occurs to me that some players use different counts for different games. Use your own judgement.

Play halves sometimes with ace side count. Am considering a 9 side count as well.

I'm not a professional, but I would guess that most professionals with other well-developed AP skills going for them would use a straight level 1 count; by the same token, I imagine professionals relying mostly on their card counting ability would generally use a level 2 count. It will be interesting to hear what the professionals say, and naturally, I did not arrive at my opinion strictly on my own; I have had the pleasure of talking with professionals here on the Forum for four years now, plus reading a number of books they have written.

Based on the number of votes placed in such a short amount of time, I would venture to say that some responders did not catch the fact that you were looking for pros only or some people use the term "pro" very losely.

So, KJ, this is what you call taking a break from the social aspect of this site? Glad to see your recent occurances didn't scare you away.

I enjoy the 'social aspect' of the site greatly, hockey, and plan to continue participating on the site. I just need to cut back on detailed personal information and situations that I put out there.

Also it should be noted, that realizing the number of players identifying for this poll would be small, I encouraged members of the 'other' popular BJ site, to participate in this poll, even if they don't regualarly participate on this forum, so as to have as large a sampling size as possible.
