You are comparing apples with oranges. zgpsyduck said:that you want to sequence them, why not assign a more negative value to aces and count them?

There are counting systems that do exactly THAT. The Revere Advanced Point Count for multiple decks comes to mind.psyduck said:If aces are so important that you want to sequence them, why not assign a more negative value to aces and count them?
So what as long as I compare their weight?zengrifter said:You are comparing apples with oranges. zg

I guess I meant to say how much advantage ace sequencing has over counting aces.Sucker said:There are counting systems that do exactly THAT. The Revere Advanced Point Count for multiple decks comes to mind.
Which is better, knowing that one deck remaining has 6 aces, or the next few cards have an ace for sure?psyduck said:I guess I meant to say how much advantage ace sequencing has over counting aces.
The answer is.....much more. I have no experience with revere APC. but from what I can tell of the tag values, it doesn't differentiate between tens and aces. so if your TC is +3, is it +3 in aces or tens? or maybe both? you have the advantage, but what kind of advantage is it? is it a slightly better chance of busting the dealer, or is it a slightly better chance of catching an ace? This is one of reasons for developing the ace tracking method.psyduck said:I guess I meant to say how much advantage ace sequencing has over counting aces.
if you could say with 100% certainty you were going to get an ace on your next hand, what would you bet? orBlue Efficacy said:Which is better, knowing that one deck remaining has 6 aces, or the next few cards have an ace for sure?

Of course. zgpsyduck said:Isn't it possible that those key cards will be moved farther away from the ace or even fall behind the ace due to shuffling?
If one of the key cards got shuffled behind the ace, are you screwed?zengrifter said:Of course. zg

Do you think ace sequencing is more effective than ace side counting?Jack_Black said:Of course.

Do you have quantitative comparison? Of course?Jack_Black said:Of course.

How many aces do you track/sequence?Jack_Black said:Of course.
duck ... that depends on the shuffle, how many sequences you could remember and how many aces you hit and how many decks are played.psyduck said:I guess I meant to say how much advantage ace sequencing has over counting aces.
I assume you achieve that greater frequency of aces by spreading to two or more hands when you believe an ace is coming?Elhombre said:duck ... that depends on the shuffle, how many sequences you could remember and how many aces you hit and how many decks are played.
My statistics say that I hit 2 more aces as usual, not every 13th upcard
but every 4.3 upcard, that's an advantage of about 8%.
In a 6 decks game. At a certain casino.
The advantage of counting aces maybe 0.5% ? am not sure.

That makes sense. I guess there is no software to simulate the effect of ace sequencing, right?
I do not pretend to know alot about this technique, but it sounds like the player needs to remember some key cards to predict the coming ace. Isn't it possible that those key cards will be moved farther away from the ace or
even fall behind the ace due to shuffling?
