Honestly 12v4 is suchhhh a close call. It's a very borderline decision that it won't change much if you use 0 or 1. But yes, as it stands, that is against basic strategy. Also remember, though, that those are generalized index numbers and not for any specific ruleset (except S17/H17) so you're better off generating your own for whatever game you most frequently play.christopher1 said:i no this is probably ridiculously stupid but i saw the index play for 12v4 as +1, doesn't this go against basic strategy? can someone explain this to me http://www.blackjackforumonline.com/content/Zen_Count_Indices.htm
Closer than 16v10? I thought 16v10 and 12v4 were the closest but I could definitely be wrong.FLASH1296 said:The closest plays in BJ are A2 vs. 5 and A4 vs. 4
What do you use to generate your own indicies ? CV data ?assume_R said:Honestly 12v4 is suchhhh a close call. It's a very borderline decision that it won't change much if you use 0 or 1. Nope, not a significant advantage. Only a slight advantage, which you probably won't notice over all the variance in your results!christopher1 said:thanks for the replies. would there be any significant advantage gained by sim'ing indices vs general ones? im not actually even 21 yet and i dont really know what games ill be playing.
Perhaps once you get better you can teach your dad, too! No reason to throw away money like that.christopher1 said:ive just been learning to count for the past 6 months or so after i was at the casino with my dad one night and won $1000 flatbetting $25 on a $200 buyin (playing pretty close to basic strategy) while he lost over $6000 doubling 12s v 10s and putting $200 a hand on the match the dealer sidebet...so i decided if i was gonna play the game i might as well learn to play it right
Basic Strategy does not assume a count of 0.christopher1 said:i no this is probably ridiculously stupid but i saw the index play for 12v4 as +1, doesn't this go against basic strategy? can someone explain this to me http://www.blackjackforumonline.com/content/Zen_Count_Indices.htm
