Imagine a game with fairly bad rules, but fantastic pen.

DD
H17
D10/11 only
No DAS
No RSA
No Mid

Pen 75 - 80%

The rules put the HE around .75%, so a TC of 1.5 is required just to get down to even. Throw in the occasional sloppy dealer, and some ploppy green chippers to keep the focus off of you.

So, what do you think? Playable? I'm thinking the pen saves it, but curious to hear other opinions.

Not playable unless you can get away with a 1-10 bet spread and can do that without the Green chip players and be able to play heads up or with one other player.

Sounds like a familiar Virginia Street scenario. The HA for this game is .75, not good. If you're talking about Reno here, just walk down the street and don't waste your time. There are are far better opportunities in town.

Feasible. Won't land in the lap, but it's feasible.

Doesn't need heads up, in fact 2-3 other players is good if he can simply
not bet in negative counts and let the others eat the bad cards. zg

There are far better ops in good ol' Reno and I've found most of them through your gracious posts, bj bob. This one isn't in Reno (or Tahoe, for that matter), but I always appreciate your input bob. Someday, I'll give you a tip that pays off :)

The ability to bail out on a negative count without stirring the pit's attention has been established. No mid entry though, so we start every session at zero (assuming HiLo). I kept them semi-amused with my lame jokes, though. :cool2:

Average. If you have average shoe games (S17, 4.5/6) in the area, you're probably better of back-counting.

I used to use a 10-10-40-50-65-80 spread on this game. Using that spread you expect to win 1.8 units per 100. Not so great compared to other games. You really depend on the good penetration. It's also nice if the casino has hours where BJ pays 2:1.
