I heard about some counters being threatened with having there fingers cut off with pinking shears.

What is the worst story anyone has heard about AP abuse?

Anything to substantiate the story?

Ken Uston got beat up pretty bad. So did Mark Estes and David D'Aquin. Steve Bernier got backroomed and searched, as did James Grosjean, our buddy Stalker and many others. There is a DVD about the abuse of skilled players available from Wong's website. I have yet to hear of any players getting their fingers cut off. :)

In modern times I've heard stories about people being roughed up in Indian casinos, where you have no civil rights. Also cars confiscated from the parking lot for retaliation, cheques not honored etc. Tribal police do have limited arrest powers over non-tribal members. The large Indian casinos I play in are patrolled by the Connecticut State Police so if you get in trouble there you will have the same rights you have in any other part of Connecticut. But out in the North the tribes handle their own law enforcement, the communities are remote and close-knit and the level of law and rights is low in general (in other words, backwoods justice) so these are the places where I would be most concerned about physical abuse of AP's.

Has anybody read "Beat the Player"

I have not read beat the player but I heard that they had a section in there about mistreatment of advantage players in that book. If anybody has read it I would appreciate comment. If a casino beat up an AP player couldn't that player sue the casino. Most places will just tell you that you can't play blackjack. If the casino doesn't honor your checks take them home with you or too another casino and another casino will cash them for you.

Not honoring your checks isn't so bad, you could just give them to friend to cash in later at the casino. As far as getting roughed up, It's going to take multiple hits on the same casino after you've been told not to play there anymore. I've only been at this 6-8 weeks, I'm up 28K ( i've posted my hot start in other threads) I've been backed off in 2 casino's so far, both Vegas strip, I don't plan on playing there for a long time, there are alot of other casino's to play at before I need to go back.

I know I've had a lucky start, veterans have said that I've experienced some unreal variance, but I do bet alot more than the avg. card counter so maybe being a little lucky while never playing less than $25 is the reason. My smallest bet has been $25, my largest bet has been $900 on 2 spots. When I bet $900.00 it was too large of a bet, but I won both bets on a plus count of 12, I didn't get backed off there but was close, I colored up and left like I was just an impulse better who was gambling.

I have some experience with Indian Casinos, as far as knowledge of them and their what another poster said " backwoods laws". Do not piss off the Indians in the Midwest, esp. upper midwest, their not afraid to take matters in their own hands. 15 years ago I seen a friend of mine thrown around in a back room by 3 security guards for writing a check on a dead acct. I had no idea he did it, 3 of us were there for 3 days on a major bender ( booze, etc...) After 3 days they got back the checks and were roughing him up til someone would make good on the check. This was over $700.00

Stalker may have been more than just backroomed - I have it on good
information that he was sodomized by security in one club, as well. zg

It doesn't count as harassment if it wasn't against his will.
