I'm in LV now. As some of you know I specialize in blackjack derivatives and sidebets, the more complicated the better. Within an 8 hour period this week I was snitched on 3 times by ploppies for mispays, two on sidebets and one on a derivative game. One I got away from the table with the money but I was really pissed. Normally I don't use religious curses but I sure uttered some gottverdammt- why can't people mind their own business? The attitude is bothersome too- righteous, almost fascistic. Northeastern people don't do that very much- I think the Las Vegas crowd is more intent on losing and doesn't like to see people not there for the same reason.

Also- what is this yelling and screaming to the floor for every little thing? Betting more than a red chip, playing a sidebet, doing anything a ploppy doesn't always do gets rewarded with a bellow and a horrified look like I just whipped it out or something. Slows down the game, draws attention. I think it's my non-tipping that is making them retaliate. This city has very little to redeem it. And I have a feeling business is a lot worse than the financial reports are revealing. Tables and pits are shut down on a Saturday night.

Snitches are to be dealt with severely, figure it out, terrorize them in some way.

I had an older guy who pulled up a chair at a DD I was on, did not play but was talking to another player, I had a mispay in my favor, he called attention to it to the dealer, I glared at him with my game face, didn't like him, he was the sort I want to hurt, so I told him if he wasn't playing to get off my table, and that it was rude of him to be there if he was not going to play, he acted offended, told him again and he grudginly got up and left the area. I would have gladly thrown down then and there with the pri##. You gotta raise the stakes with these azzes AM.

Wow that's rough! Telling on someone for getting an overpay is pretty weak!

And as for calling over the floors... that's really weird because I've found Vegas to be the place where they never call the floor over for anything and dealers can do whatever.

I've found that in Vegas, some places make the dealers call out everything and some places only call out color ups basically. Additionally, some dealers follow the house procedures and some don't.

As far as bringing overpays to the dealer's attention is just downright dirty, ploppy or not. The heat can start coming down on the dealer and that's game over for you. Ploppys need to mind their own business. My favorite line is that bj is not a team sport. Ploppies really take exception to that.

Exactly! That's why I never correct a dealer errors (in my favor). I don't want to bring attention to their error, which could get them in trouble. :angel:

Just tell the dealer to quit calling out "checks play" or you're going to quit tipping. Slows the damn game down so much.

Like you said AM it's the non tipping.As far as plops yelling when you get overpaid-there's no hope for some people! This is the guy who finds a Brinks bag on the road and brings it to the authorities!:joker:

I hope it changes by april but I'm sure it won't because this past september's trip was as you encountered automonk. I guess with the downturn in normal business the gates of stupidland are wide open. I was luckier than you though because no one opened thier traps about the dealer's errors in my favor. I didn't say anything but did tip her since I think she was sweet on me and was feeding me. I swear if one of the idiots opened thier mouths I would have let them have it verbally.:whip:

I play primarily in the Northeast and that has also been my experience. I can remember one instance where another player with a couple hundred dollar bet out was snitched on by a young female player who appeared to have very little casino experience - she even had her mother with her at the table, so she may have been 21 and making her "casino debut". In any case, the guy who she ratted out turned to her and asked, "What are you, a ****ing dealer in training or something?" :laugh:

Having a little trouble distinguishing between the first, second, and third person pronouns? I wish I could claim the words as my own, but as I wrote above, they were the other guy's. The Italian mafia is known to have very little sympathy for associates who bungle its operations - by ordering misdirected hits, for example. :cool2:
