Splitting 10's question

If you have 20 and the next card is a definite ace, would it be correct to split against any dealer upcard, presuming the hole card is checked? I think it would be but need confirmation, thanks!

I would think its correct to double, but yes, splitting would also be +EV if that was what you were asking

Yes. Suppose the dealer pulls a 21. As is, you lose one bet with a 20. If you're guaranteed one 21, you can still one lose 1 bet, max, as your 21 will push. And I would double on the first T, too. Then leave after you get your chips!

Yes

Best options in order::
  • Surrender,Stand if you expect ace to come as first card in next round to you.. Depending on table max and your current bet ratio..
  • Double: Win 2xmoney
  • Split
  • Hit

I know doubling would be better but for heat purposes I would never dare at anywhere I like to play. While if the dealer had a strong upcard it could help look stupid.

If heat is too much of a concern to double and you can't get the card on the next round, best to stand if the dealer has 9-A. Drawing an ace with such an upcard will always hurt the dealer if you have a 20.
