splitting 4's

When practicing Caino Verite playing REKO 2dk h17 das the strategy says to always split 4's. But if the count is +2 or higher I get error message that says to double down instead of split. To me it seems that if the count is +2 or higher(A favorable count) you would be better off splitting the 4's because of the double after split rule. Which play is correct?

If you can double after splitting you always split. Unless you're side-counting the sevens.

Its correct to split fours against a 5 or 6 when the count is 0 or higher when DAS is permitted. When DAS is NOT permitted treat it as HARD 8 which is what Verite is telling you to do. Check your settings!
