With Blackjack Strategy could I have some advice..Is it better to sit on 16 V Ace after splitting my pair of 8,s getting say (8,4,4). Considering the bank only takes original stake if he gets Blackjack.
Cheers

Now that we're on this topic anyone want to share some 88 v 10 basic strategy deviations for hi-lo for a surrender game and no surrender game? I know there may be some differences depending on decks but the 6 deck indices should give a nice ball park number, thanks.

I am a beginner with BS and would like to explain the hand I was dealt in more detail. I split my pair of 8`s against the dealers Ace. Hand 1 drew a 9 so we sit on that. Hand 2 drew 4 & 4 to give me 16. So BS says I have correctly sat on 17 with hand 1 and i`m to take a card with my 16 in hand 2. My thinking was am I better to sit on my 16 as the dealer only takes original bet if he gets BJ. I am not card counting and this is my first attempt at this forum.

The fact that the dealer doesn't take his hole card until after you play your hands(s) has no bearing at all on BS if he takes only original bets upon having a natural. That said, since you were not counting, the correct composition-dependent BS would have been to stand on the second hand, if the dealer hand a ten, but to hit with the ace.

buy that book? heres one better

buy riverboat blackjack series off amazon or ebay
set up the same casino emulaton that you would enter the same rules in your casino
lose any where from 500-2500$ play 158 hands and tell me how much you lost
software is better than most books imo

I don't understand what you're trying to say. I have CVCX but not CV Data. I believe CV Data is used to generate indices.
