I tried to enter the Encore on it's opening night. Note, maybe not go on a casinos opening night!
A little busy getting into the parking garage, but was able to find parking on higher levels with no problem. The garage seemed easy to enter and convoluted when leaving. Then the problems!
The way the building is shaped I think it funneled wind into the garage and made it very windy and cold.
Once inside the buidling you had to wait to enter the casino. There method of crowd control was to estimate when about 100 people would leave and then let in about the same. They had us roped off about 6 abreast and when they let us out they would say "Take it easy, dont' rush", well they set up the stampede scenario. They should have funneled us down using the rope barriers until we were 2 abreast and when a couple people left then let a couple in, this would have been much more efficient then waiting for 100 to leave to let in 100.
When enough people get their eyes cut on the palm plants that line the main walkways they will be removed.
I hope you like red, the walls, carpet, ceiling and light fixtures were deep red. I am thinking to much and I like red, to me classy is a sleek and clean look not a vomiting red garish carnival! I am not a gay male interior designer so for me to notice it must have been really over the top!
The light fixtures looked plastic with crooked red lamp shades, perhaps got them at discount from a New Orleans brothel.
The table games are in little slightly separated parlors. A little interesting but they were all decorated the same. An opportunity missed if each little section was decorated differently that would have been interesting. One could go to the area they preferred; or move around, it would also keep the mind fresh and keep the gamblers playing! They could have decorated several mini casinos, oh well a lost opportunity.
Encore has employed the tactic that will finally be the end of blackjack, this IS!!!!! the end of blackjack!!!!!
The chairs were so heavy that you cannot move them in order to sit down and play! They were so heavy I thought they were connected to the machines and tables. One can make a chair that is not prone to tipping without it weighing a ton! No AP players will be able to play because we cannot move the chairs to get to the tables! Like I said, the end of blackjack!
The trend in Vegas is baby doll dealers, boy did Wynn drop the ball. Some of the dealers were very attractive but only because they happened to be young. They dressed very nice, some even with suits and ties. I would have hired baby doll dealers even if I was going to dress them conservatively. Some of the waitresses were extremely attractive, but some were just pretty. Perhaps on the hiring of employees Wynn had to hire those that were laid off from other casinos first? There was a mention of the decor trying to attract asian players. I guess asians don't like beautiful female dealers! If seeing the occasional beautiful dealer dressed like a man is your thing they have a couple of those! Did I see the waitresses wearing the same outfits as the Wynn? Do they share outfits? Nothing new to tantalize the eye!
To many pit bosses standing around; maybe an opening night thing, to much overhead Stevie!
I will admit I did not explore every inch of the casino. I think I did recognize some employee faces from the Wynn.
Oh yeah the blackjack
6h17 das ls rsa? ASM 4/6
6/5 single deck
DD about 60% to 65% dealt
Nothing to go running to vegas for, but probably this will be the new casino for big money players. There were a lot of those.
If red causes seizures then you cannot go!
