Earlier in life, including my BJ career, I didn't have a vehicle because I couldn't afford one, didn't want one and didn't need one. Living in the city back east, owning a car just was not necessary and even a hassle. Monthly parking costs more than some folks pay for housing.
The 'can't afford one' no longer applies. I now don't own a vehicle because I choose not to drive. After living in Vegas for a year now, I have decided I will be seeking some private transportation. Las Vegas is just not as condusive to not having a car. Like many western cities it is more spread out than eastern cities and there is no car share programs like I belonged to back east.
(I wish there were) I think a car is a waste of time when playing on the strip or even downtown, but especially on the strip. I like to walk the strip and you just can't beat $1 monorail rides for locals. I usually walk to one end of strip north or south hitting various stores and then monorail it home. Can't beat it.
However playing the outlying 'local' stores makes private transportation necessary. Plus I like to drive to Red rock canyon for hiking and other attractions nearby, like the painted desert, grand canyon, Hoover dam. Anyway, bottom line is I have begun looking at motorcycles. I think a small bike would be awesome in meeting my transportation needs. Economic and fun too.
Plus based on the Bellagio robbery, a good way to flee the scene.
