Imperial Counts by John Gollehon
Yes the Imperial Counts are something explained in booklet called Blackjack Mania by John Gollehon. I know my answer is a little bit late on this issue, like 2 years

but I just happened to see this booklet in a books store the other day and i couldn't find more info about the imperial count on the internet so I wanted to make a search on blackjackinfo and saw this thread.
It's a small, like 50-60 pages booklet explanining the Imperial II count. Author claims that the count is very suitable for crowded tables as well as 8D games. More people at the table and more decks used are the better. About how it works is as follows:
Preferably sitting at the 3rd base, the very last seat on the right hand side of the dealer, and counting only small cards, 2,3,4,5,6. We look for a seat in a crowded table, like 6 players playing and we get the 7th seat. We wait for the next shuffle. After the first round where 21 cards consumed (8x2.625), we look for only 6 small cards out of 21 cards laying on the table. Why 6? Because 7 players minus 1 equals 6. (e.g. If there were 8 seats, then we look for 7 small cards). If we have seen 6 small cards, writer claims that we have a slight advantage over the house on the next round. I don't know why and how and so many questions came to my mind while thinking about it. I don't know if he does that for every single hand and starts from scratch on the next hand or accumulates the count after every hand and if so how? I didn't have much of a time to read the details while I was overlooking the booklet but it sounds very easy and so much simple. He also shared a memory in it. He teaches this count to one of his students who is a good basic strategy player and they tested it together and made a nice profit.
