This year is different!

Started my career last year. I swear, high counts were just plain stupid, the crap that went on.

This year....more of the same? Well, I played (2) hands at $50 each last night.

I got A,A on first hand, and blackjack on second hand. Dealer shows 2 card.

I split A's....get another A with BOTH OF THEM!!! UGHHH. Can't re-split here.

Here it goes...more of the same....why me...why every damn time.

Dealer flips over 10 value for 12....then dealer flips over other card.....

...ANOTHER 10 VALUE!!! WTF....this should happen....but if you could have just witnessed my 2019 luck....FINALLY. DAMN!

I have won money my last 5 trips. I started out 2020 getting in the hole early by $1,000....and I have reversed it and am now up $1,000!

IS that a lot? HELL NO! Not the point. For the hours I put in, finally good to see the math. It is not good...it is GREAT!

Ok, bring on the haters. I don't care.

Swongs are gigantic. There's a reason bankroll requirements are so big relative to your betsize, and it isn't because this is the kiddie coaster...
Yep, but when it is finally good, I am going to talk about it. I had another great night last night. $500 in one shoe. I only lost 3 or 4 hands in the whole shoe. Got so many double down opportunities. Even did a "no-no" and threw in a side bet and got the straight! :)

I would caution you again not to think this way. You put yourself on a very unnecessary emotional roller coaster. The huge swings are inherent in the game. if you celebrate all the good ones and go crazy lamenting all the bad ones, you're going to wind up in the loony bin.

I understand that you aren't going to listen to what I say, but, at the risk of sounding cold, no one here really cares about your individual hands, because each of us has experienced what you are describing 1,000 times.

I agree w/ you.

I haven't had 1,000 of those though, so for a brief moment, it was good to see. I am already in the loony bin!! My first year of playing put me there!

I do plan on escaping it though. I won't make a habit of these messages. This is temporary.

When you said "lost only 3 or 4 hands in the whole shoe", it reminded me of an experience I had almost 10 years ago now (my how time flies). Since you seem relatively new, you may not have read it, so here is a link.

I’m glad your winning.
I like to see people happy.

There are some severe losing sessions. But if your doing everything correct you will be good in the long run.

I recommend keeping records.
This way you can audit your game.

I’m happy when I’m playing a hole carding game. I like dealers who don’t protect their hold card properly.

I thought all the "top" players used the shoebox accounting method. :p (Just a poke at someone who may not even read this forum, but others will get the reference)

But seriously, there is a danger in keeping too detailed records and over-analyzing. I have done that. An example would be if you break your records down by individual casino. You may end up with a couple casinos that you have just lost at. Just completely normal, small sample size. Then you start to look for things that aren't there. I actually simplified my records as far as win and loss amounts a few years ago to avoid this. For wins and losses I group similar games, double deck, 6 deck and 8 deck. That way the sample size gets a little bigger and seems to smooth out things.

I do keep records for each casino concerning heat and any specific situations that occurred during my most recent few trips, just as a reminder to myself before my next trip.

I’m not saying to treat it as if it’s the atomic science program. But it is good to know about how many hands you played for that 1/4 1/2 or year. Depending on if the number of hands is high enough to show he is play with an advantage.

Last year, I kept record of every day playing on Excel.

This year, I'm just keeping $5,000 cash in a zip lock bag. When I double it to create my $10k bank roll, then I will start officially tracking again.

Just how I am choosing to do it.

The tax man might not like this method.

I remember an occasion I had my max bet out in a Super Fun 21 game. I had T,2 v T. Last hand of the shoe; yes, I said shoe! I told myself I should surrender this hand but couldn't recall the index number because it never came up before. So I hit and broke. I checked later and the index was there. Damn frustrating!
