Shad, it sounds like you are the one to ask about this...seems like you, bp, and one of two others are the resident experts on the comp system and how ADT is calculated.

If I accept an offer for 2 or 3 nights at a HET property and play one day only, is that any different on my ADT than if I showed up and played one day without staying at the hotel? If that's the same, what do I need to do on the other days aside from avoid using my card? Specifically, can I sign food to my room if I expect it to be comped at the end of my stay? Will closing out my bill (if any) at the end of the trip trigger a "day" if I don't use my card?

I already know what kind of play I intend to give them to generate a large theo, I just want to know how they figure out how many days I've been there for the ADT calculation.

I'm not certain if this is the best way to handle it, but what I do in situations like this is to only use comps on the day I'm giving them play.
If I check in Monday, and am checking out Thursday, I'll play big on Weds and use my meal comps the same day. No reason to wait until checkout to use them, if they are on your card, use them and don't sign anything back to you room.
My experiance is only days whern you actually use your card count towards ADT. Others disagree, and say each nite you stay in the hotel counts as a trip. You used to be able to actually check your ADT on Harrahs website but they shut that down quite a while ago. Other than flat out asking a host, I'm not sure how one finds out your ADT these days.

Thanks for the reply. That's about what I expected. If you do sign something to your room, does the host ever take care of it at checkout or would it have to be either with points or cash at that point? In the voicemail he said he'd take care of my food, but I'm not sure how that works exactly. I may call them within the next day or two so, I might just ask him those questions. Seems like a pretty harmless thing to ask. Thanks again for the response on my ADT questions.

I don't use a host. Most of my comps come when the AC casinos send out 5000 point coupons- I bang them out and bank the comps for future use.

I've been on a harrah's/ncl cruise before and the onboard casino is basically worst everything you can think of.

The BJ on the ones I've been are always 8deck H17.

Also, lol. I got a comped weekend at the Imperial Palace and in the middle of the night some other people
came into the room while I was sleeping the same night I checked in.
Oh man, thanks for the laugh!! That is too funny.

I get similar ones for a store in AC...one of those swipe the card, get X,XXX RC deals monthly. From the various discussions on the board in the past, I think I know the answer to this question: Does swiping begin a trip for that location?

Thanks again for the info. I think I know as much now as I'm gonna know. Time to book the trip and see what happens

Yes, they do. In fact as I swipe three (Showboat,Harrahs, Ballys) in the same day, that counts as three zero trips. But I am not concerned about my ADT. Much more concerned with the $150 in future comps.

Very interesting. So, with your play, the monthly 3 zero trips don't reduce your ADT enough to whittle those offers down?

If you use a host I would try to avoid meeting them in person. That way when you get backed off there's 1 less person you need to avoid.

Think about the problems you might run into when you're coming back on a fake name 3 months later and get the same host again.

One of my issues with using a host is my play is sporadic. Sometimes I can rack up 5000 tier points worth of play in a day, other times I can go a few trips without finding a game at a place. I don't think hosts are too happy if you go a trip without playing at all. Anyone with more experience w/ casino hosts have any insight on this?

Btw, on total rewards the hosts have a LOT of discretion. I don't even have weekdays free on the online reservation system but got 3 days comped with a host. (And the only reason I used the host is because I can't book it myself. I can't go this weekend unless I got this room, so I figured I'd take a chance and try using the host)

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll try to avoid the host if I can, unless it seems that there is a good financial reason to meet him. In the future, I'll determine whether to book through a host or through the website based on the offers I get and how I intend to play that trip.
