Two-Deck Blackjack odds and strategy?

Last night I discovered that a casino near me started offering Two-Deck BJ in an attempt to be more competitive with other casino's... their marketing strategy seems to be working because me and about 5 other dudes sat at one of these tables ALL NIGHT. I was having really good luck with it, as compared to what I was having with their Eight-Deck tables earlier in the night.

My question for you guys is: are your odds better with Two-Deck?

Also, are there any Basic Strategy differences or variations with a Two-Deck game comapred to a Six or Eight-Deck deck game?

One fellow kept standing on 15's and 16's when the dealer had 10, saying "this is two-deck, so I stand" implying that the dealer will bust more often than in an eight-deck game... was he correct with this?

Yes, several. The most notable being 9 v 2 and 11 v.A.

No, BS for these plays is the same for both games.

There can be great differences.

Shuffle info etc. Number of spots on table, min...max????

It all seemed to be the same rules as their eight-deck tables: Dealer stands on all 17's, BJ pays 3 to 2, no surrender, can DD after split.

Also some folks were playing an odd form of Doubling Down that I had never heard of before called "One Less".

As far as shuffling goes, dealer lets us cut, and seems to go to about 80% deck penetration before the dealer hand shuffles the decks again. After shuffle he removes the fist card... some dealers were showing us that card when we asked, others said they can not show it in Two-Deck. Also when a new dealer steps in, he removes the first card too.

Hands were $15 minimum, $500 max if I recall. There were six seats.

Anything important that I am neglecting to mention?

Doubling for less is usually a telltale sign that the person doing it doesn't have a clue.
