I love when i'm playing with my friend and I got a blackjack, he hits a 12 vs a 3 and gets a 9 to make 21, dealer flips over a 7 to make 20 and beats everyone at the table except for my friend and I. I (sitting on first base) say to my friend across the table so everyone can hear (sitting on third base) If it wasn't for you the dealer would of busted and everyone would of won. I then sit back and watch the ploppies verbally assault him for the next 10 mins while I feed the fumes making comments here and there. The whole time the dealer is laughing cause he knows I also hit my 12's vs a 3. You can have so much fun with this its ridiculous.

Oh God, I had that happen to me you-know-where! I thought I was busted for sure.
Pros and cons of hit and run play: You escape some heat but also miss out on the host. :laugh:duanedibley

Got basically the same line from a dealer at another casino when a ploppy was berating my play. Of course I left shortly, but it was refreshing to sit with the one dealer who didn't think I was the biggest idiot at the table.

As it turned out, I stayed and made no comment or recognition of what the dealer had said. I was playing a more or less break even game waiting for a good run of cards, so I suspected his comment came from my near perfect basic strategy play. I was doubling my bets in neutral and low plus counts, but other than that, there was not much he could have seen that spelled counter. I did breathe a sigh of relief when this dealer left, however.

This reminds me of an incident that happened to me at the Silver Star a few years back. As I was slowly moseying out the back door, two security guards came running up & grabbed me by each arm. One second later one of the guards' radio crackled: "NO, not HIM - that guy by the bathroom!". Without a word they quickly let me go, & ran over and snatched someone else. To this day I still shudder when I think about it.
It was all for fun, my friend was laughing too. We are both to the point now where its kind of funny when people get mad if you make the right play, especially when its just a BS play that they themselves should know (half of them have the card at the table and still play it wrong).

that happened to me last week!:laugh: scared the pants outta me for a second. especially when he started by saying, "we've been watching your play.........and I would like to buy you a steak dinner."
although I think splitting tens and having a full table clear out is still one of my favorites.

Hard 17. I was willing to kill the game (it's not a very good one).
Yes. I was playing a low advantage game that I found because I had nothing better to do that shift.
Hitting hard 17 is for the most part a rookie move.
Oftentimes these weak games have a habit of turning into good or even great games if you just leave them alone. Sometimes it takes weeks, and sometimes years. I once had a hopper dealer in a major strip casino who was completely dormant for three years. When she opened it up she was a 100% game for the next five, until a team from Chicago discovered her & burned her out completely, by hitting 17 & by surrendering hands of 17, 18, & even 19; with $1000 + bets on the table. Talk about killing the goose that laid the golden egg!
It's entirely possible that you just killed a future superstar. Not to mention the risk you took, of being identified as someone who knew something.
