Oh God, I had that happen to me you-know-where! I thought I was busted for sure.johndoe said:... is when you get "the tap"from a well-dressed, name-tagged gentleman standing behind you, and it turns out to be a host sent only to kiss your ass.

Got basically the same line from a dealer at another casino when a ploppy was berating my play. Of course I left shortly, but it was refreshing to sit with the one dealer who didn't think I was the biggest idiot at the table.aslan said:"Listen to him. He's a professional."
As it turned out, I stayed and made no comment or recognition of what the dealer had said. I was playing a more or less break even game waiting for a good run of cards, so I suspected his comment came from my near perfect basic strategy play. I was doubling my bets in neutral and low plus counts, but other than that, there was not much he could have seen that spelled counter. I did breathe a sigh of relief when this dealer left, however.duanedibley said:Got basically the same line from a dealer at another casino when a ploppy was berating my play. With a friend like you, who needs an enemy?revrac said:I love when i'm playing with my friend and I got a blackjack, he hits a 12 vs a 3 and gets a 9 to make 21, dealer flips over a 7 to make 20 and beats everyone at the table except for my friend and I. I (sitting on first base) say to my friend across the table so everyone can hear (sitting on third base) If it wasn't for you the dealer would of busted and everyone would of won. I then sit back and watch the ploppies verbally assault him for the next 10 mins while I feed the fumes making comments here and there. The whole time the dealer is laughing cause he knows I also hit my 12's vs a 3. You can have so much fun with this its ridiculous.
This reminds me of an incident that happened to me at the Silver Star a few years back. As I was slowly moseying out the back door, two security guards came running up & grabbed me by each arm. One second later one of the guards' radio crackled: "NO, not HIM - that guy by the bathroom!". Without a word they quickly let me go, & ran over and snatched someone else. To this day I still shudder when I think about it.johndoe said:... is when you get "the tap"from a well-dressed, name-tagged gentleman standing behind you, and it turns out to be a host sent only to kiss your ass.

It was all for fun, my friend was laughing too. We are both to the point now where its kind of funny when people get mad if you make the right play, especially when its just a BS play that they themselves should know (half of them have the card at the table and still play it wrong).BJgenius007 said:With a friend like you, who needs an enemy?
that happened to me last week! scared the pants outta me for a second. especially when he started by saying, "we've been watching your play.........and I would like to buy you a steak dinner."johndoe said:... is when you get "the tap"from a well-dressed, name-tagged gentleman standing behind you, and it turns out to be a host sent only to kiss your ass.

Soft 17?pit15 said:Some guy got really pissed off and left because I stood on 14 vs 10 right after hitting 17 vs 10 the hand before and him thinking he lost because of it. (Both were the correct play)
Hard 17. I was willing to kill the game (it's not a very good one).aslan said:Soft 17?
Are you an advantage player?pit15 said:Hard 17. I was willing to kill the game (it's not a very good one).
Yes. I was playing a low advantage game that I found because I had nothing better to do that shift.Billy C1 said:Are you an advantage player?

Hitting hard 17 is for the most part a rookie move.pit15 said:Yes. I was playing a low advantage game that I found because I had nothing better to do that shift.
