You can still count Zen. Just divide everything by two. That's what I do with RPC if counting with someone else who uses High-Low.
Alhough the transform is probably slightly more accurate from RPC to High-Low, as the counts aren't really that different.

i used ace/ten count for about three months then switched to hi/lo for a bit over a year. but now i use what i call the fuzzy count which is really just card watching where you try to mimic hi/lo and all of it's ramifications in short you try and follow a conservative hi/lo bet spread and then gamble some higher bets when you believe the count is really juicy.

How did you do with Ace/10?
Why did you switch to the FC (Fuzzy Count) if you already had Hi-Lo down well enough to use it for a year? Have you seen a big drop in your win rate (and for that matter are still +EV)?
Learning RedSev (also known as Red 7, ha ha). Give me a deck and I can teach it to you but I don't know it well enough to use it in a casino.

AOII and hi lo
I use AOII for pitch games, using over 60 indices, especially when playing at an empty or near empty table.
I use Hi-Lo for shoes, as AOII gets somewhat cumbersome when playing a shoe and holding a conversation at the same time. Hi-Low with perhaps 30 or more indices, for me, can be done on auto pilot with no thought.

I switched from HiLo to Zen since last Oct. I am happy with my switch. In the last 4 months, I doubled my bankroll. Only 6D or 8D shoe games are available where I play. It was about 1/3 losss vs 2/3 wins for a total of 21 trips. I am getting comfortable playing $25 min and 1-12 spread. That's 1/2 Kelly, according to my bankroll. I wonder if I should start playing $50 betting unit or not. May be the casino will not tolerate 1-12 spread if I play $50 or black chip.

When I first started playing back in 1985 I used Hi-Lo then switched to Wong Halves a few years later . I now play reKO for 6 and 8 deck and KO with full indices for double deck. Since switching to KO I feel I have not given up anything and due to it's simplicity I can play without fatigue.

i did excellent with the ace/ten front count but hit some fairly nasty negative fluctuation (that is supposed to be par for the course according to Renzey). thats when i switched to hi/lo. did excellent with hi/lo as well to the point where my bankroll built up enough that i could raise my rather conservative bet spread. wouldn't you know it that is just when i hit some nasty negaitve fluctuation with the hi/lo approach. the damage was really relatively not so great and i was left with some decent winnings but i decided to take a 'blackjack sabbatical' and do some soul searching and going back to the drawing board as far as how or if i wanted to continue playing blackjack.
during the sabbatical i decided that i was going to try out the FC approach.
i have not had much real casino play using FC at this point to be able to say if there has been a big drop in win rate or EV. i have been doing extensive CVBJ practice playing, about five N0's worth of mixed six and eight deck play. the results in those practice plays have been similar to my real world results when i was using hi/lo except that the fluctuation does seem a bit more drastic.
