whats the max u have won in one casino before being banned?

If the casino thinks you have an advantage over them, they WILL take whatever corrective action that they feel is necessary, whether you're winning or losing. Sometimes; the danger of barring actually INCREASES when you're losing big! IMO; it's because when an AP is losing, he will oftentimes take undue chances with his playing strategy. Usually when you're losing you CAN get away with somewhat more, but if you carry it too far;sometimes it DOES backfire on you. Hello all, Sucker is correct, Its not nessesarily how much your ahead that gets you banned but whether or not the casino deems you a threat. As your counting career advances there is a good possibility you creat a name for yourself with the Surveillance departments and other agencies...This could be very bad for you. You could even be banned on the spot without playing a chip liike Tommy Hyland,The M.I.T. Boys and countless others. Make sure you use coverplays and stay under the radar.

I thank you ZenGrifter for the nice words, Let me start by saying I learned to count with a friend of mine over 20 years ago, He went to the card counting side while at the time I went on the casino side. He did very well and eventually was banned everywhere.
I started in the gaming business in the late 80's, worked is several gaming juristictions including Atlantic City and Las Vegas. I have been a dealer, floorman, pitboss, surveillance, Director and yes I worked for Griffin investigations for a few years.
During my career, I always played on both sides of the fence...working for casino's and counting (sometimes cheating) as well. I have been flat-bet, Backed off, Banned and 86ed. I always stuck to casino's that I knew were not affiliated with each other, were not on the SIN network or were not griffin subscribers.
I am responsible for evaluating many card counters and in a lot of cases, making them famous. When I worked for griffin, the M.I.T. boys had just started, and we played cat and mouse with them all over and finally made it too hot for them to play. I have seen many teams come and go as well as individuals. The one mistake they have in common is being recognized by surveillance or other agencies.
As a member here I will answer questions and concerns counters may have about surveillance, griffin, gaming, Biometrica (facial recognition software), pit personnel, etc. I hope my advise is accepted as is is to help you out in your career as a card counter.

You don't need to give any examples of the types of cheating you have been involved in or anything that might tend to incriminate you. Your 5th amendment rights are safe here. Btw, there are few, if any, cheaters on this board. There are many shot takers but no cheaters that I know of. In fact I would venture to say that cheating is looked down upon here (no offense).
I am personally curious how large and how dated the SIN network is and how actively it is subscribed to. Also, how accurate is the information contained within it? Like what % of the persons in it are really ploppys?

I don't believe we have exchanged words before, however there are people who pose as imposters and people who are still working for Griffin or Surveillance that are fishing here for information. This went city wide (although there were a few casinos not on the list) now the SIN network is digital and incorperated into facial recognition software (for those casinos that have it) and the alerts go mutli juristictional, not just Vegas wide.

No, Card Counting is not cheating by any stretch of the imagination, You are using your brain (that can never be deemed illlegal) as Ken Uston proved in court many years ago. As for incriminating myself, Im not worried because it was many years ago and the casinos never knew it happened..But some cheating techniques are: Computer (obviously), Dealer/Agent colusion, crimping, bending, sanding, daubbing, piching, pressing, These are all examples of cheating on a card game but there are more.HockeXpert said:Welcome ExGM!

And when it comes to staying under the radar, the best thing is to spread yourself out. If you did well at one store, go to a different one (especially if you felt some heat). Change your appearance from time to time, wear a ballcap, especially in older casinos(theyre camera systems have trouble with multi angle shots) keep switching aliases.

When it comes to cover plays...when you start to feel a little heat, Deviate from basic, but only do so according to the count. Start splitting, taking insurance etc. But only when favorable to you. Most pit bosses and surveillance personnel (if they called you up) will be thrown off by thiss simplicity as they evaluate basic first before they start to count.BOND said:
