Who Does MGM Share Info With

#1
Who does MGM share info with? I've heard there is a database that certain companies share but are they a participant or do they keep the info to themselves? I stay at MGM resorts when in Vegas so matching my name and face without a player's card is easy enough if they want to.

I recall seeing a line in a copy of CBJN from months ago under Bellagio that said "shares info with other MGM casinos". But under other MGM casinos in Vegas it doesn`t say this. If one is sharing info with others, the others have to be sharing back. I guess they just forgot to include that line under the other properties.

I would fully expect them to share amongst all MGM properties at least.

Exactly. That`s why I thought it was weird, because only putting that statement under one property makes it seem like they`re some kind of headquarters.

Thaks for pointing that out. It was left over from when Bellagio was the main offender. Now all the MGM properties appear to routinely do it, so we deleted the notation from Bellagio in the July CBJN, available in the afternoon of July 3.

I don't think anyone else. But hard overlook the fact that MGM runs a good portion of the casinos in Vegas. Besides the MGM Grand, they run the Bellagio, Aria, Mandalay Bay, the Mirage, Excalibur and Luxor.

And don't forget the lovely Circus Circus, along with the ever-sweaty NYNY, and Park MGM.

LVBear, you play Reno, don't you? I thought I've seen you post re: Reno before. What places offer surrender there?

Yes, I used to play extensively in Reno, much less so now. There is no surrender offered anywhere in Reno.

Got it; from what I`ve heard that makes sense that they`d be the main offender. Thanks for clarifying Al.

Seems like a misleading headline. Looks to me like they're after a declaratory judgement to shield themselves from billions in liability lawsuits. I certainly can't blame them. It's not like they're seeking damages from the victims.

It's about perception. It's a real, real bad look. Two years from now, nobody will remember they did this as a pre-emptive strike. They will remember them filing the suit. And basically keeping down any judgement IS getting money that could be due to the victims. The management at MGM is getting some real bad advice. PR wise this could crush them for a long time.

Not true Bear. Plenty of places in Reno, you can "surrender" your wallet while being held up. :p

And yes, this MGM lawsuit headline just looks awful. I understand it's a legal maneuver, but the headlines everywhere in the last 2 days are just horrible public relations. o_O

So MGM misses earnings because of disappointing results in Macau and the market sends their stock down 10%. Next they will be telling us the Chinese have stopped gambling. That will never happen.
