If a pit boss doesn't get any incentive pay for catching card counters, nor gets fired for letting the MIT team play without giving them heat, why should they even care about catching counters? Assuming it's a big casino that has enough money that a few lucky gamblers won't put them out of business, the pit boss doesn't need to care about the casino's profit. They should just stick to making sure the dealers are doing their jobs correctly, watching for real cheaters, resolving disputes, etc.
