On my last trip to Tunica, as always I tossed current casino mail offers into my suitcase so I can use the coupons. After I had got to my room at the Horseshoe, I found this wild Ace coupon in my awards booklet (harrahs). You simply play it at a shoe game ( at the Horseshoe or the Grand ) and bet up to 750.00 max, the coupon counts as a ace and the dealer deals you one card only, to make your initial two card hand. I found a empty table showed the coupon to the dealer who called in the pitt boss, the pitt boss read it and I placed 300.00 cash play on the table. The dealer hit me with a face giving me BJ and he promply paid me 450.00, I was excited for having won but could have kicked myself for not playing the full 750.00 max allowed. Has anyone else run across these coupons? I always use all the coupons I get but none were as good as this one.

The only one I ever had was at the Longhorn on the Boulder Highway. I think the max bet was $10. Maybe $5.
But they're awesome coupons. You have roughly a 50% advantage when one of your cards is a guaranteed ace, which is why people go through so much effort for things like ace steering and sequencing. As far as I know that advantage is still true with a coupon... oh wait, it is:

Anyway, this advantage means that if you were using any sort of proportional betting with a free ace coupon, you're going to be putting a crapload of money on the table.

I have got an ace coupon before but it was only for a $25 max bet. If you get an ace coupon you always bet the maximum allowed by the coupon. I have never seen a $750 max bet ace coupon. I would think that you would have to be a real high roller to get such a valuable coupon. But by not betting the full $750 and putting only $300 on the table you literally gave the casino a $175 worth of expected value. I think that $300 was a real high bet for you but I still think that you should of pushed it. Could you have lived with your self if you bet the full $750 and lost?

There is a casino in my area that offers one '1st card as an ace' per day - 6 days a week. (Up thru September)
The ace is saved on pushes, and blackjacks are paid 3-2. The max bet is $25.
Does this mean that I am expected to clear $75 a week mathematically? Better still, on the way home there is another casino that offers 2 $5 match plays per day, every day.
In exploiting these promotions, am I truly averaging just about $100 a week in a moments work!? :grin:

You are correct, I am not a high roller, on the same perforated coupon card was my two free table 10.00 plays. I play green with a typical 1-5 spread on the double deck pitch games common in Miss. My logic of not placing the 750.00 max bet, was what it would do to my bankroll if I got a double down and lost, clearly a possibilty. Still not one of my better decisions, I should have went for it.
