Wonging a dying art in AC

It seems to me that more and more properties are making their $25 + games NMSE. This combined with the deteriorating BJ conditions in AC and large crowds, is making playing AP blackjack very difficult. I haven't seen any casinos offering any game with better than 75% penetration as of late. Pretty discouraging to say the least.

What the hell is your max bet that you can't get it down in two hands on a $10 table?

The problem with that is that there are soooo few tables where I could play two hands at a $10 table that isn't H17. Trying to find a table now that offers better than 75% penetration is also exceedingly hard.

There are a couple of ways to handle this.

1. Don't avoid H17 games. The gap between H17 and S17 closes quite a bit at high counts, so if you find an open seat in a fast moving game with good pen at H17 don't hesitate to hammer it. There is really no bad game that can't be made into a good game with backcounting.

2. Don't sweat having to play Wong-out instead of Wong-in-Wong-out. It isn't that much less profitable.

Bigger Spreads.... Play All... Pee/Answer phone when it really goes south (but leave the chips on the table). You DO know you can win at negative counts. (assuming full index play). Also the "velocity" at which the deck is going negative can make for some good negative TC rounds. I'm starting to believe excessive wonging does more harm than good.

The real TC is measured at the bankroll. :)

Caesars. I played last weekend on Saturday from 11 am to 8 pm with a few breaks. They have mid shoe entry 6 deck on $25 table. I haven't posted much lately, but I am still playing. I had a fantastic day, wish I had known about this sooner.... It was a great experience and great people who left me alone while I wonged in and out excessively all day and night. This was my best play experience counting to date (1 year total).

thanks for the update. I wasn't aware that Caesars had any $25 6 deck (presumably S17) games. I thought it was all 8 decks except for the high roller room.

I haven't seen S17 at ceasers or any other HEt property for over a year. might be worth another look.

I wasn't aware that it was possible to have an edge playing in negative coutns even if I'm utilizing full indices. That's a new one. Can you elaborate on what you meant by the "velocity at which the deck is going negative can make for some good negative TC rounds." I'm guessing you're saying that it isn't that bad for you if the TC is only slowly dropping like maybe one -1 TC for every 8 rounds vs one -1 TC in a round.

I played again today at Caesars. It is H17, but it IS 6 deck, by the boardwalk and they allow mid shoe entry at the $25, not the $50. Again, I had another great day! This is my new favorite place in AC! Does anyone know if you can get rooms comped playing at the $25 for 4-8 hours a day?

Hmmm how's the penetration though? Yeah you can get comped during weekdays at that level.

Maybe he is referring to the fact that it is best for the player while the count is dropping. High counts are better for us because the chance of the count dropping is more likely in those scenarios.

I wouldn't get to close to the Boardwalk. Harrahs security has been known to drag people out and throw them in the surf

A friend of mine who is at Caesars this very moment just called me and said it is still all 8D (except the hi roller room).

Blue, I clearly know the difference, I have played enough Ballys and Harrahs games of 8 deck to know the difference, and Caesars is 8 deck, and I am not going to post exactly where the $25 6 deck tables are located. They are there and I do know the difference and in fact I play the game quite well. I just don't talk as much as other posters. I come here to learn where others have more experience than myself. The count variance alone shows a big difference in the amount of decks dealt. They have only 6 deck in the high roller room at HARRAHS.

Good to hear you can tell the difference between 6 and 8.

Are you sure you were in Caesar's and not Bally's?

AM dont break my balls ;)
I have left Harrahs and Ballys 8 decks for Caesars 6 deck which have
mid shoe entry and I can wong in and out, as you know I dont use a huge trip bankroll. I am thinking this is pointless to post on these boards anymore, not all women are dumb....
