Double deck blackjack is standard blackjack dealt from just two decks of cards, and it is one of the best games in the casino when the table keeps the classic rules. Why players seek out double deck games

There is a catch: casinos know two-deck games are attractive, so they routinely claw the advantage back with one bad rule. The two most common:

Two-deck strategy is close to the multi-deck chart, but not identical: with fewer cards, a handful of doubles and splits become correct that you would not make against a six-deck shoe. Double deck and card counting

Double deck is the classic “pitch game” and the favorite of many card counters: with only two decks in play, the count moves faster and swings further than against a six-deck shoe, so favorable situations come around more often. Casinos answer with shallow penetration, cutting off a large slice of the two decks so the best counts never arrive.
