Taxes on winnings in Alabama
Alabama taxes gambling winnings as ordinary income under its graduated rates, which top out at 5% on income above $3,000 for a single filer. That is a low ceiling by national standards, but there is no special carve-out for gambling: winnings go in as income like any other.
Federal tax applies on top. The IRS counts every dollar of gambling winnings as taxable income whether or not a W-2G is issued (Тема 419 Налогового управления США (IRS)), and offshore casinos send no such form, so the record is yours to keep.
