lifetime? six figures? You don't need to be an 'expert' to reach 6 figures in life time winnings, you just need to invest some time. I would think many if not most players, who play regularly for any length of time, have reaches 6 figures comulatively. A handful, reach 6 figures annually.

Hmmm

Would that six figure winnings be in "Units" or " Dollars" ?????
At the rate our dollar is being deflated how the heck could someone possible live on a six figure dollar income..........preposterous i say!!!!!!!!!
Now a six figure "unit" income" even red chippers.........now that could be comfy!!!!!
:eek::p:p:laugh::laugh:

Do you find yourself amusing in real life, as it doesn't seem to translate to the internet very well?

The six figure (dollar) range is $100,000 to $999,999 with the median number being $549.999.50. I think many people can still get by on that. Everyone's situation and requirements are different. With no kids or spouse to support, I could easily get by on the lowest end of that range. It would be a slight step up for me. :o

Ok, to be clear. Thoughs who are (+) 100k plus in lifetime play, not thoughs who won over 100K, crap, ive would be well over 1M then,

I think i used this analogy in the past. I would only want a mentor who has made it. Whether we are talking about sports, business, finanace, etc. I would not want to take advise from the personal trainer who never was in shape, never had a 6 pack, or some type of high level competion, necessarily, or take advise who only has read some books or magazines. There is something to actually completely the goal and the accomplishment in life. When i played tennis in my teens, i would only hit with guys much better than me and kicked my butt. Thats why i was asking our resident experts here, have they made it in blackjack. I guess making it would be (+) profits to date.

I like the quote: "If you think your so smart, why aint you rich"

Lifetime six figures is pretty easy to accomplish. There are plenty of people here who meet that criteria. Seven figures is tougher, but there are more than a handful of those here too.

Talking about annual profits is more meaningful. After the first of the year, I'll be posting an anonymous poll for reporting 2010 profits. Stay tuned.

A picky little point about that…

The current poll is titled “2010 Results Poll”, but was actually for 2009 results. Maybe you could unsticky the current poll, and then create a new one with the same name? :)

(Maybe change the title of the current poll to “2009 Results Poll”.)

Yes for the most part I agree with what you say. It is very important to learn something from somebody who actually already knows it and can in some capacity use that skill to accomplish succeeding at the goal at hand. Monetary accomplishment is not always the best gauge to determine this in the case of AP blackjack. There are many big bankrolled players that win large amounts of money just because they play large but their skills are not superior by any means. In reality given a smaller bankroll their wins may be be far less than those with similar bankrolls and superior skills. Truth is, being a great player doesn't mean you're a rich player, as well as being a mediocre player does not mean you can't make lots of money playing. Its the players that can leverage the most of what they have that really are the ones that you can learn the most from if you get the chance. Of course being highly skilled with a large bankroll would be an ideal situation, but in many cases that takes more than just blackjack knowledge to attain.

Thanks Bojack, i agree as well. I just through out a number to see where others were at. Im just looking to see who can honestly say they are ahead in profits playing AP blackjack and not looking for any specific monetary amounts. Did it take our experts years to pull ahead with an advantage or maybe they still have not seen the 1%+ advantage and still waiting for it to come one day.

Are you planning to use the same monetary categories as last year or are you going to break them down a bit more?

Something to think about

There are exceptions--------------------but most major league baseball managers, NBA and NFL coaches weren't terrific players themselves.
The saying "do as I say, not as I do" comes to mind.

I agree, your also talking about the top percent of people who get the opportunity to coach NFL, NHL, Major league, etc. We are not talking about the jack of all trades, master of none, expert/coachs

That has alot to do with great players not being able to convey their special talents and ahtleticism to those they are teaching. The superior gifted athlete very rarely can make other players they teach as great as they were. There is a certain disconnect between greatness and average, even on the pro level in sports. A grinder who needed to work harder and truly learn the game just to compete at a reasonably high level usually makes the best coach. That being said, I believe in terms of AP blackjack, the better the player, the better the potential of learning from them. Learning what makes a winning player and how to accomplish that, in my opinion is best learned by those "who do". Anyone can learn the basics from a book or from someone who knows no more than what they themseves read from a book. Theory of BJ is a great place to start learning, but practical teaching from good experienced players that have learned and mastered how to win at this game beyond theory, well thats pretty beneficial.
