When do you deviate from Basic Strategy regarding a shoe's count? Or how can you determine when to hit or stand depending on the count ?

That's a pretty elementary question.
There are a couple hundred deviations from BS, but most of the value comes from just 20 or so.
However, if you learn this different BS you can entirely forego most of the deviations --

So far it's quite challenging because of the mathematics of it. The most important thing I've understood is that it takes a lot of studying and practice to be good at this! I'll definitely keep the book close to me, thanks Don!
 
after you read all of those books that basically teach the same thing in different ways, read..."Fast and Slow Thinking" by Kahneman. This book helped me revolutionalize the game. I cant count how much feedback I am getting in emails for visions. Introducing psychology into the game and refining things like my controllable variables (ie. table capacities) is where its at. Although I will have to say I did start with "Beat the Dealer" like everyone else.

I love your subtle quote reference hahaha. Its good to see you again. Im curious to know more of your background now. I will def take a moment later today to leave feedback on how my studies, specific to this book, influenced my experiments with blackjack. This thread make me very happy.

.....wait, you are making reference to the attack I experienced yesterday with my youtube channel and discussions on a "discord" correct? Voodoo was a very popular phrase used lol.

After reading your interview, I don't feel as alone in my convictions as I did prior. I am not surprised at the fact that this thought process has made its way into gaming, but I am very surprised to read the way in which you lay it out because it sounds like myself talking. Pretty cool feeling and I am excited to respond to the thread as you have mentioned prior. You will have to forgive me though, as I probably will not get to this until late tonight or tomorrow. I have volleyball practice after work and then I have to edit my videos to release tonight on my channel.

I do have one question. Is it Zen or Xen? The handle here uses Xen but the interview is for a Zen. Are you who you say you are?

I am zengrifter, but for some stupid reason when this site re-opened recently, as part of an online casino traffic scheme network, my old logins wouldn't work despite my being the biggest single contributor to the forums here.
