I had a interesting time playing at the casino this weekend. Saturday was filled with followers of the flow to which I may subscribe to after this. I sat at one table playing heads up for three shoes and kicked butt for those three shoes. The forth shoe and subsequent shoes were interrupted by in and out players which really hard to read the flow of cards. Heads up play allowed me to alernate between one and two hands and read the flow where the flow interupters would enter and leave at the most inopportune times. The effect of in and outers on the game were really not a factor other than total hands played but it did seem to effect my bottom line. blackchipjim
 
Sorry jim, with what level of sarcasm should I read your post? Scale of 1-10 please.

Also, how many decks was the game and what was your spread?

I was sarcastic in the post but, have you ever had it happen to you. I was playing 8d with a 1-12 spread 10min table and was able to play three hands when needed. The point was not the sarcasm but the introduction of players to a playable game making it a less desirable game. I have had the chance to play heads up more and more lately because of the less crowded condtions at the casino. I also have people ask me when playing if I mind if they join which I reply after this shoe if you don't mind. A normally less desirable game can be beatable if done heads up and decreases when other players come. Do you agree or not on this subject the flow title was just a eye catcher. blackchipjim
 
Using ploppyisms is a great excuse to wong out, when needed.

A few weeks ago, I'm playing heads up, count goes negative. Guy comes along and hits his 17 v 7. I look in amazement and say to the dealer "I would have won if he didn't make that stupid play." Then I walked away to find greener pastures.

Be very careful here

Sarcasm can be viewed as messing with the mystical powers of the almighty Flow of the Sacred Cards.
Some of punishments I have seen are things like starving card devouring ploppies entering "your" show, hitting their 14's vs dealer 5, splitting their 3's vs dealer 10 and similar things causing a shuffle to come several hands earlier.

Others enter the shoe with $237 in cash, causing your high school dropout dealer to panic trying to figure out how to do that in chips. This time delay gives opportunity for two more ploppies to join your table before a card comes out of the shoe. One of these ploppies will be upset after getting his first two cards that this is not a 3 card poker table. The other will just blow cigar smoke in your face.
Do not mess with The Flow!!!

Sure, The Flow can get disrupted, but fairly early in my playing experience, I was sitting immediately after a terrible player, who was doing everything wrong. But, every time he did, it helped me immensely. He'd "take my bust card", or stand or a card that was a great double down for me, whatever. He lost his money very quickly, which was a shame, because I was cleaning up while he was at the table. Just dumb luck.

Well, at least I know why that happened to me.

Recently, was at a table where the guy before me stood on something bad, like 14 vs a dealer 8. The dealer ended up drawing to 21. I turned and told him, "you know, there's a reason you were supposed to take another card with that hand, and we just saw it". By my standards, I snapped. (Only lost a half-unit bet, it was just the principal).
 
The FLOW works both ways in can be good or bad. The flow of the cards are always there like a river.

I entered a new game a little while later with an unbelievable flow of cards. It wasn't an ideal game but I played for the heck of it. Two women and two men, none with any clue on how to play. I sit in the middle and proceed to win almost every hand. The women and one guy to the right of me are standing on 14,15,16,and not doubling when it's apparent. I halfway tracked their play and caught the cards I needed because of thier misplays. This went on for two more shoes with the same results. The women left and I started to go south on my hand results. I quickly switched to third base to skew the outcome of subsequent hands. I started to feel like a ploppy just doing this but couldn't resist jumping. I have sat at tables that one seat is the hot seat with seemingly gets all 20s and bjs and the other seats are getting garbage. I hate entertaining the idea but I have seen this phnomenal action more than I care to admit. blackchipjim

It's a good thing that you are bearing your soul. Most AP won't admit it the theory of the flow of the cards. I seen it all the time. Don't know what it means.

the flow is like a drunken random walk. it's said that an AP can transform it to a drunken random walk with an upward drift. :rolleyes:

The power of The Flow is not something some mere mortal cardcounting advantage player can possibly understand or predict. This has lead to the saying of, "just Go with The Flow."

Also remember that those who have the greatest belief in The Sacred Flow are better known as losers and ploppies, as The Flow appears to be an agent of the casino.

Finally, though The Flow, flows in both directions, its overall direction is always Down hill!
