    Question regarding pair of 4's

this was the thread I had about 4/4 http://www.blackjackinfo.com/bb/showthread.php?t=23647. Very good discussion and analysis of it by all who contributed; the end result was for a DAS game was split 44 vs 5 even at it's doubling index number and double the 44 vs 6 at it's index number.

    Marker Delay

I've had that in a 6D shoe too- the count skyrockets right from the get-go and stays there, yet it seems all I do is lose, lose, lose. (Did I hallucinate that high count???) I would've loved to have seen the 1 1/2 deck after the cut card; it had to be very rich in good cards. I just put it...

    split 44 or double?

again thanx for all the input and discussion on the subject--- btw I play HiLo with I18 (so 7's are neutral)--- and what I'm seeing from all the posts is double the 44 vs 6 (at TC+2) and split 'em vs 5 at it's otherwise doubling index.

    Choosing a dealer.

All things being equal, I choose the dealer based first on pen and then on speed. I like a dealer who keeps the chitchat to a minimum, occasional comments are fine, keep the game moving. Doncha hate dealers who invite kibitzers in, "come on in and play!"? (An all too common occurrence for red...

    split 44 or double?

thanx to all for your input, especially to tthree showing the math. Looks like doubling is the way to go once the count reaches the indexes.

    split 44 or double?

Perhaps this question should be in a different category (blackjack math for example) but basic strategy calls for splitting 44 against 5 or 6 in a DAS game. I know the index for doubling an 8 against a 6 is TC+2 and against a 5 is TC+4, which I do with hand compositions of 5/3 and 6/2. With 44...

    5-200

I posted this b4 regarding playing a game- the best guide for me when sizing up a game as to playability is figuring the house edge based on what the rules are and then using the Snyder Profit Index, which also takes into account the penetration and number of players. Here's a link to it (Dead...

    Game worth playing?

to jaygruden- I like it as a good guide. Most places I play at have DD and 6D games. If they are very close house advantage-wise then it'll steer me to the more playable game. Or not even bother to play at that time. The guide shows how very important penetration is and the number of other...

    Game worth playing?

regarding a game's playability I usually use the Snyder Profit Index as a guide, here's a link to it- (Dead link: http://plazcasino.com/3)

    Az/nm

for Friendo- it's hard to say; at the Hardrock DD table I've seen quite a wide range of bets, from the $10 min to $400. They do call out checks play at $100. Sometimes the PC pay attention and other times seem they could care less. (Not much of an answer I know.) Pen will vary by dealer...

    Double 11vA in h17, but not s17 - why?

Here's a link to expected value tables which show the differences. http://www.bjmath.com/bjmath/ev/ev.htm (Archive copy) Also I think you double 11 vs A in a S17 game when the true count is equal to or greater than +1.

    Az/nm

I agree too on Hard Rock; DD is $10 min S17 DOA DAS no re-splits pen dealer dependent tho usually 50-60%. 6D $3/5 min S17 DOA DAS RSA LS pen 65-80%. You also might want to check Route 66 casino, exit 140 on I40. DD $5/10 min S17 DOA NDAS can re-split all but aces 50-60% pen. 6D $5 min S17...
