I'll reiterate. He'll make more money working at McDonald's.
As for him citing Dancer. He plays high stakes and MUST HAVE lucrative cash back, comps, multiplier point days, mailers, etc. I'm quite certain even he will admit that without these things, you will lose at VP.
If you think you're going to grind your way to riches on quarter video poker, you're in for a rude awakening.

I think your point of view about VP vs BJ is interesting but do you mind moving it to another thread so that we can discuss it in a concentrated place? I would like to learn more about VP but it's hard to get all our thoughts together when we're all talking about it in a random forum post about something else with 3 different conversations going on.

Let me clarify my answer. I dont know why I said by switching it would be $25 in EV, it's actually $125 in EV. This is what happens when you post late at night and tired. The answer is still the same, but just want to clarify my typo.
If it's a one shot deal, you take the CE of 100 by not switching. If we're going to keep playing this envelope game unlimited times, then switching is the correct move.

My bankroll is at 43.4k and have lifetime earnings of 37K+ after 1100 hours and performing at nearly half my EV because I'm simply cursed or being cheated.

5. Do you use situational game techniques or do you play strictly as the simulator says? For example, if you are on a TC + 5 and you lose 2, 4, or 5 consecutive big bets, do you keep betting until you lose 10 consecutive?

your bet spread is not correct for Hi Low you are absorbing a lot of variance by placing a very high bet on TC + 1 and TC + 2
It should be like that:
TC: 0 Wong Out
TC: +1 bet $ 5
TC: +2 bet $ 20
TC: +3 bet $ 40
TC: +4 bet $ 60
I recommend a bankroll of 120 Big bets ($ 7,200) and if you lose 10 or 20 Big bets you have to optimize the spread of the bet.
How much money to bring for a session?
For each hour of play carry 5 big bets, if you play 4 hours a night with 20 big bets you are protected

This is bad advice, IMO. The 120 max bet is ok. I prefer players use software which can be individualized to their specific play and RoR comfort levels rather than a general 100, 120, 150 or 200 max bet rule, but that's just me. 120 is an ok number for many.
But this 5 big bets an hour is rubbish. A player can and frequently does lose 5, 6 even occasionally 7 or 8 big bets on a single round.
I start my day with 20-25 max bets. I won't start a 6 deck session with less than 15 (DD maybe 10, preferable 12). If you do chose to start with less you are risking having to walk away from a big +EV, + count and that is the last thing a card counter wants to do. We work hard and play through some crap to get to the good, +EV counts. You don't want to walk away....unless the troops are gathering and curtain about to fall. And even then, if a really strong count, you try to squeeze one more round in.
