(6D, S17)

According to CVData the index to double on this hand is 1... however, I have lost 2 of 3 times so far (two spots with big bets; TC was > 3; the dealer didn't bust because of my play :cry:)

...so I was considering to avoid this index and stick to BS which is a stand. Any comments?

2 of 3 times, heah? I didn't get paid on three straight BJs last night(pushed). That statistic is absolutely meaningless. You cannot possibly infer anything from a sample of three. You need to readjust your perspective to the long run if you are serious about AP. Always trust the math.
 
yes, your sample size is severely lacking...give it a few more million tries and report back in oh, say, June of 2061 :laugh:
 
lol maybe I didn't express myself properly... 2 of 3 times, because I have just learned that index a month ago... and for sure I know that 2 of 3 times is nothing... for that reason, I started this thread because some of you guys have those "million tries"... so based on your experience... do you use this index play?

YES … you continue to make the play as called for by the T.C.

However, if you have nagging bankroll issues you will want to use a Risk Averse Index which will be +2 for your count in all likelihood.
 
use Risk Aversion indices

you may try using +2 if the original is +1 to lower your variance.
BS is also fine, it helps in lowering the variance at the cost of EV..
 
yes, that and several others...also understand that like BS, indices change with rules and # of decks so know your game and it's indices...don't take a knife to a gun battle.

I've lost my max bets-thrice at +6 when i doubled on soft 19 and got an ace which lost to dealer 21. If I would have stayed, dealer would have busted..
and yes, I still remember those three soft 19's double down :)

How many other indices are you using? Its not like this one is going to change your life, one way or the other.
