to be honest, this sounds like splitting hairs, and would add an incredible complexity to something already quite challenging for a marginal added cover, at most.
regardless of the variations on index play you use, the only thing that matters is whether or not the Pit identifies you as "counting" or "not counting".
have you ever sat at a table with another AP? you can tell right away when you're in company of another excellent player.
the PB's might not be able to tell however because they're running around putting players on rating and checking in/out cash and not focused on the game, so only obviously "counting" moves will make you stand out.
I dont think even the dealers pay enough attention to the game to be able to pick out differences in your play. i.e. the following thought will never go through their head: " well, this guy showed all the signs of a HiLo counter, but since he didn't make this specific play which is common in HiLo, he must just be a gambler". thats just way too granular IMHO
