I believe there are many active people who post on this forum needs to be less judgmental and critical to those who are learning nor have the experience in this "game" of blackjack. I have watched many people make others "wrong". and feel alot of negative energy on the message boards which is counter productive. I am active in other message boards of another topic and dont see the negativity like in here. At the end of the day, blackjack is a great game, I have made great money at it, however, very few are making a career of it

The biggest problem I see is that there is such a mix of posters here. You have seasoned, pro AP's, progression/bs only players, newbies, lookers, wannabes, you name it. Many of the posts get lumped into general and we all sometimes don't know the skill level of the posters and go for the juggler when called for.

From an AP perspective, hey, if you can't a little criticism here on an anonomous forum, you will never survive in a casino. From a bs only perspective, some of the posters come off too strong because the bs only players don't give a rats ass about flushing their money down the toilet. They only play for fun and being flamed on this site is not fun.

IMHO, the information to be gained here and the quality of some of the posters on a free forum such as this is....Priceless!!!

Thanks to Ken and the mods for keeping this thriving!

Controversy is good. Everyone laughed at Chritopher Columbus but he got the last laugh and discovered the New World. Now he wasn't much of a navigator because he was only about 8,000 miles off in finding a shorter trade route to India. Word is recently that he may have actually been Polish, not Portuguese. True story. No knock on the Polish.

Poland wasn't even a country until after WWI.

I think you should have gone for the juggler here. Since you didn't, I will...

Mr. shadroch kinda sums it up to a certain extent. Don't go on a soap box unless you don't mind getting knocked off it. The melting pot of posters draws varied responses from the community of APs at different levels of expertise. The old saying of kitchen and heat or get out rings truer here but, all are still welcome regardless of levels of understanding. I'm no math wizard and will never comment on the math of bj. I ask alot of questions on math though and no has ever beat me down for asking questions.

The problem is a lot of people here are internet heroes. There are a few legit pros on here, but most of them are lurkers/very occasional posters.

And so you have a decent number of people with no real experience talking out of their asses about a lot of subjects.

On the other hand, a lot of the real pros have their heads up their asses and think they're better than everyone else. Not naming names...

Controversy

It would be interesting to see how simple controversy of a given subject increases the traffic to the site. I see some threads reaching into the thousands of views on some subjects and only into the hundreds if that on others. I know that the subjects that are taboo usually draws the most traffic and traffic are hits and hits equals moolah. This site can always use a little spice in it's rack to draw members to it not that it's dull now mind you.

Can't see why any country would brag that they were the birth country of a slave-trader. Also don't see how you can "disover" a place where there were already humans.

Speaking of Poland - when we were promoting the microwave-based "wireless cable" TV in the 90s, (see ZGI) one of our biggest sales was to install the tech in Warsaw, to be that nation's first cable system. The Polish PM and his Telecom Minister loved the system demos - clarity - cost advantage of no coax cable plant, etc.

BUT at the 11th hour the Poles canceled the sale. We were flabbergasted and asked WHY??

The Polish representative replied, "Well now this is our country's first cable TV system...
...so we decided we want the real cable... so that we can see what we are getting!"

Could it be that the discoverers considered the inhabitants
to be sub-human. :whip:

Yes they did. Question is, why do people still make this claim?

Fewer than you'd think

Well truer words have never been spoken.

Whatever do you mean? What pro would possibly think they are better than your self acknowledged decent amount of non legit, internet hero, no experiencing having, talking out of their ass types? The nerve of those stinkheaded pros. I'm with ya moo, those pros using their asses as hats should just shutup and be kind to all the others posting their "wealth of knowledge".

In the Heroic Partheon, where do Internet Heroes fall?

I'm thinking somewhere between Celluoid and Cybernetic?
