Discussion of other BJ Forum Sites

Hey guys,

We've got part of our forum available for all users, while part is for premium members only.

I wanted to offer to comp anyone from blackjackinfo.com a four month premium membership to http://www.blackjackapprenticeship.com. We'd love to keep the community together.

I will continue to think through ways to make the forum valuable for members of the blackjack community, while keeping the integrity of our site high.

Be patient with us for the next couple days to get our ducks in a row, as far as issues with our signup process, etc. But you can contact [email protected] to get upgraded to a free premium membership.
To follow up with this, simply email me your BlackjackApprenticeship username and email and I'll handle the upgrade. You'll need to register (Dead link: http://blackjackapprenticeship.com/forum/register.php) _HERE_ first.

Thanks for the interest in BJA, looking forward to having you on the boards!

Slot APs?

New site suggestions...slot AP...Progressive slot information...Wizard of Odds for slots...slot APs...slot APs...fits in well with slot APs
Are slot APs people who never play slots? It would make for a very boring (and brief) section of the website. I supose it would be easy to do, like adding a shallow end of the pool for the dims.

I will be at Blackjack Edge also for a bit till things get sorted out.

Interesting site. You have to be at least 13 years old to join which gives a whole new meaning to doing your homework. Date of birth is also required and is in your bio for the whole world and every casino to see, unless you take measures to keep it out. Yours is there, machinist. Are you ok with that? I wouldn't be?

Don't admit it if you gave a fake date of birth because that would be a violation of rules 8 and 19 of the sites Terms of Service.

Since the recent announcement that the forums are closing, I have been struggling to accept losing this forum. Although I am an infrequent poster, I look at these boards daily or more frequently and I enjoy reading your advice and experiences.

I have therefore decided to set up a forum similar to this one, with similar categories and I hope that we can continue the spirit of this forum.

The site of the new forum is counterscorner.proboards.com .

This is temporary, and I hope to be running off a full domain soon. Also, the forum currently contains advertisments, these will be removed in the coming days, when I have guaged support for the new site.

I hope that you will all be able to join me there soon. My username is one of my former playing aliases (Steve Lee).

With exception to a few that this does not apply to: Slot APs are the sad-looking guys you see grinding away on penny slots while waiting for an old lady to get out of a seat so they can swoop in and make a $5 EV play. With any luck, they'll only lose $4 from the -EV slot play during their downtime!

For the moment I will be at Blackjack Edge.

Not me. I just looked, and someone has falsely registered my name there. And tthree has already started with politics. There are some truly dishonest people on these forums. I filed a trademark and impersonation complaint.

Perhaps that is why blackjackedge is no longer accessible. When accessing, the following error is displayed "Account Suspended: In accordance with Section 25(a) of the ProBoards Terms of Service, this forum has been taken offline."

It looks like Blackjack Edge has just been suspended. Try getting on their site.

Yeah, Proboards didn't like it for some reason. Here is the language of 25 (a):

WITHOUT LIMITING ANY OTHER PROVISION OF THIS AGREEMENT, PROBOARDS RESERVES THE RIGHT TO, IN PROBOARDS' SOLE DISCRETION AND WITHOUT NOTICE OR LIABILITY, DENY USE OF THE WEBSITE AND/OR SERVICES TO ANY PERSON FOR ANY REASON OR FOR NO REASON AT ALL, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION FOR ANY BREACH OR SUSPECTED BREACH OF ANY REPRESENTATION, WARRANTY OR COVENANT CONTAINED IN THIS AGREEMENT, OR OF ANY APPLICABLE LAW OR REGULATION.
Kind of like the rules for 86ing in Nevada Casinos.

I suggest Two Plus Two Poker Forums where a "Other Gambling Games Forum" exists. GBV, JSTAT, Automatic Monkey, and others from Blackjackinfo.com have posted there. 2+2 averages 3,000 views online at a time and all sorts of topics are discussed. It is the place to go to enrich your poker game along with your blackjack experience.
Not that this has gained much traction, but OGG is pretty slow and there's barely any expertise in there - like maybe 1-2 good APs, plus a few borderline AP/ploppies like me. Unless there were a concerted move, I doubt it'd be of use to people seeking good information.

If there's a concerted effort to move anywhere, could someone make a clear announcement about it? Blackjackinfo has always been the place I send people to when they want to know more about blackjack than I know. If a lot of people are moving to another site, I'd like to be able to say, "There was this great site called blackjackinfo but it closed down, most of the people moved _______."

I'll be the BJI outpost in OGG. :) It was a pleasure posting with you all (back when I posted more regularly).

ProBoards does not allow gambling discussions. It also doesn't allow quite of the few of the posts made by a few members here due to other reasons in their prohibited content guidelines.

Their terms of service don't appear to indicate this (the cited section 25a, for example). I'm guessing you made a complaint directly with ProBoards?

They don't list it in their terms of service, but they do list it elsewhere in their prohibited content.

Unfortunately, these policies are boilerplate. When I decided to put up a forum I looked around at the free offerings and found they all had pretty much the same rules. No one wants to take chances with UIGEA. I ended up taking the same route as Ken, buying a Vbulletin license and using my own server.

There are a few that have different terms of service. But, their software sucks.
